Intermitten Miss 6 Bolt 2g Dsm

1995 mitsu gsx with a 6 bolt swap, evo 16g, aluminum radiator, intake, downpipe, a/f gauge pretty much all the bolt ons, walbarro, just no ecm link. On 10psi.

Long story short, bought this car for dirt cheap, it was all bone stock. Got it from someone who did the swap and had no idea what they were doing or gotten themselves into. The car has come a VERY long way, fixed a lot of problems, car is up and running strong. Good friend of mine whose owned his dsm for a couple years now was able to give me alot of advice on how to fix the dsm problems.. But now I've got this one.

I've done my research, seen the 1g in a 2g swap thread..

Basically while cruising steady at any speed 35mph, 40mph or 60mph at less than 80% throttle it will cut out and start missing.. Ill have to let off the gas completely or take it out of gear for it to go away but once i start cruising it does it again.

I know you can disable check for cylinder misfire through ecm link but i dont have that right now and am currently saving up for it. Just wondering if anybody had a similar problem and fixed it.

Also has new plugs, wires, tstat, fuel filter etc. I've gone through most things. Don't really know where to go next, Cleaned maf.

The ecm will cut fuel to the cylinder that it thinks is misfiring if it counts too many misfires. You would have to turn the car offand turn it on again to make it clear up. My 95 did the same thing when my cat went bad. I would start there.

I'll try disconnecting the Tps, as for the cat being clogged, I'm running open downpipe pretty stuck, only other thing I havnt really messed with is the cas.

i bought my car cheap due to the fact the previous owner had a 6bolt swap done and was missing. I did a bunch of searching on here and was told to unplug the tps and it would stop it from going into limp mode until i was able to get link which worked for me

Do you have a afpr to go along with the walbro?

Ok, I'm gunna try the Tps tomorrow. And I'm not using an afpr right now, however my cursing a/f is 16 and at wot its 10.5 which from what I read I can get away with

How will taking off the TPS affect the car? I am using a 6 bolt on a 2g car. This didn't start happening to me until after a new head and valves were put in the car.

Not so sure on the Tps deal, but i do feel pretty retarded. Was just double checking everything, and i Noticed 2 of my spark plugs had essentially popped off the coil pack. just touching the wires had made them fall off so there clearly was no strong connection there..

Took some needle nose pliers, widened the prongs and pushed them back on and then ziptied them to keep on some pressure. Went to the auto shop and cleared all my codes, drove around a bit and did some pulls and no codes yet.

I wouldn't say that that was my problem exactly, I will update the thread later on to see if the code comes back up.
