there i posted for a mod to close my other post since it was to figure out the pain type and you helped me there I went and got the paint you were talkin bout and it worked great I didnt have to do much prepwork just a good clean and smoothing slightly .

Picture quality sucks, no way we can tell how you painted it....
Personally not a fan of the color, but your car and your choice ;)

well ill hopefully get a new camera by then my old ones otu of commission thats a cell phone pic . I'm gonna try to tear out the other plastics today and paint em . I'm debateing anyone got an opinion on this concept. I'm going to base paint my air bag cover (passenger) with that blue and cut a cover out in the shape of the mistu symbol and then get a secondary color and cover the rest of the airbag and paint the diamond a different color and i want to do the same to my door panel speaker covers any ideas on a secondary color ?

You're gonna grow tired of the smell of spray paint in the car. Just a warning. :). And after a while, you're gonna want to paint it all just black.

*cough* Oh! How naive I was....

No, the paint smell is only there for a few days, trust me.

You desecrated tan on black interior? Do you know how hard that shit is to find and you just krylon'd it red

Man sorry to bust your balls but the tan/black is pure sex in the 2g's I had it in my 99GS and am growing bored with the grey/grey/grey on the TSI

Haha god people just be satisified with the factory colors. They aren't that bad. If you have the gray and don't like it swap in tan/black. Nothing is tackier than red, blue, white, and green interiors.

I 100% agree with you. People are crazy. Tan and black is sexxy!

Wow, some of you guys need to slow your role. No need to bust anyones balls over what they feel are good looking color combos. Who cares if people want to paint their interiors bright colors. I sure dont. They bought their car with their hard earned money and they can customize it any way they want. I really get tired of reading hate posts. Yea, yea, we all know by now that if you arent rocking a stock body, stock interior then you not "a true dsmer", aparently. Some of you guys are idiots.

To the OP, keep doing what you do, and build your car for you.

No, I didn't. The car was in poor interior condition and I didn't want to try to match factory so I just re-did it all. The seats were a NASTY black color from dirt and such so I got red and black seat covers and there were stains all over the interior pieces that wouldn't come out. It was FAR from a clean interior.

My point to all posts in this thread are this... There are ways to "modify" interior under the hood etc that are just clean period. Having a car that looks OEM to the normal people and screams hell yeh to the DSMrs is my goal. My car for example is going to be "modified" but its going to be done with OEM parts. There are ways around this. IMO I have a clean under the hood image so far and Im rocking graphite and black along with a few polished parts.

Bright colors are usually indications of a younger genre. I made a statement based soley on the fact that I remember being 16 and wanting to rattle can everything in my car hence the nic Krylon Kid or Kryon King. Then as I got older and the paint started chipping and staining I yearned for a more subtle look.

I probably went through ten different interior schemes on my kia before I went with the finished product. My advice plan ahead and dont ruin good parts. DSMs arent easy to find parts for. If your unsure of something find a junk piece and paint it to your liking if it doesnt jive remove it and go back to OEM

After I got my car, I painted my interior parts blue like you and I thought it was the coolest thing ever ever but then about 3 months later I was tired of it and i spent 150 dollars on ordering new black interior from ebay. Now my interior is 100% blacked out minus the seats and carpet. (check my albumn if you want to see) If you like the blue i am definately not going to hate on you for it but just think hard about every move you make with your car before you go through with it. just my .02

+1 my GS i referred to that had the sexy black on tan sat for 5 years with the windows down sunroof open in a junk yard. I bought it and powerwashed everything! it cut the mold etc and the interior look alot better. I just frown on somebody ruining the tan/black

my first car was a 2gb GS that i still own to this day. the worst thing i ever did to it was rattle can the interior pieces. im still slowly getting back to the stock grey/grey that it was and ive spent AT LEAST twice as much to bring it to what it was than it cost for me to ruin it. imo FORD RACING BLUE would be the last color i accented the interior of my DSM with but again, its your car so do what makes you happy... as for my car with the 4g under the hood i still couldn't leave the tan/tan cloth interior alone but its definitly more tasteful to the common public and the DSM crowd than rattle canned interior trim. maybe you should think about spending your hard earned cash on something you'll grow out of in 6 months? tan/black leather. :rocks:

Man I love those Dark Grey/Black seats. Are they stock? What year/make/orig. interior colors? I'd like to find some in a recycle yard...

Everyone has their own taste and preferences, I like the extra color, if my interior was tan and black from the beginning sure I wouldn't have touched it, but it wasnt, it was grey, and the grey sux to look at after a while (maybe its just me?) I've gotten plenty of compliments on my car's interior though, I cant think of one person who's seen the car in person (or even on the web for that matter) who didn't like the interior?
