You know they invented interior/fabric cleaner for just that reason. My seats got filthy last summer because of my job and now they look brand new again with some elbow grease. There is no excuse for rice.

And Vanilla I'm not trying to hate but its because of kids like these with bad tastes the rest of us get a bad rap for owning a ricer car. I'm not saying you have to be stock to be a "true DSMer", but blue, red, green seriously.....?

Like I said, the interior was beyond repair. If you would have seen it, you would have known. The seats werent just dirty. there were permanent marker marks on the seats for some weird reason. The plastic parts (This is an RS) were cracked and dirty to the point to where those interior/fabric cleaners did jack-.... . Yes, there is an excuse to paint the car a different color. Whether it be black, tan, gold, purple, pink, red, blue, green. When I get my hands on the stock black interior pieces, I'm gonna make my interior look stock again.

97 gsx, let him do what he wants to do with his car ricer color or not. you aint drivin it right? aye man its a good color i dont care if its rice or not, just don't get azzletzas or anythin thats rice. its just interior

Man I love those Dark Grey/Black seats. Are they stock? What year/make/orig. interior colors? I'd like to find some in a recycle yard...

They are Black leather seats...only found in 99 model eclipses....IMHO I think completely blacking out the inside is pure sex....:rocks:

some 98 eclipses came with a black dash area while 99's came with a black dash, interior pieces and black leather....heres my 99 gsx when I got it and now to this day....Don't mind the tint...it's exactly how I like it :D

QFT :thumb:
that's what I'm working towards with my interior on my 95. GREY sucks!
Vinyl dye for the soft bits and Krylon fusion satin black for the hard parts
All the soft bits are getting treated to heavy duty microfiber suede, black on black on black for the interior.
:hellyeah:

Wow, some of you guys need to slow your role. No need to bust anyones balls over what they feel are good looking color combos. Who cares if people want to paint their interiors bright colors. I sure dont. They bought their car with their hard earned money and they can customize it any way they want. I really get tired of reading hate posts. Yea, yea, we all know by now that if you arent rocking a stock body, stock interior then you not "a true dsmer", aparently. Some of you guys are idiots.

To the OP, keep doing what you do, and build your car for you.

Agreed :applause:

Your damn right that grey sucks. There is a user online here that his interior is spotless and clean...I think its RedTurboEclipse if I think correctly....His is a really clean mixture of grey and black...When I got my 99 GSX, I was after the last year of the 2g's black leather, with either black, white, or silver exterior...I think they look the best when added with the black interior...

In my experience the krylon is great for the interior, but you may want to look for options on the exterior, it fades and pits after nearly a year.

I just painted the black I found in grey parts at the junkyard, the previous owner destroyed the interior.

The fog light cowel came that way from the junkyard on the top picture. I used krylon this time, but will look for alternatives on the exterior.

start with the krylon for a base and top it with Rustoleum. that stuff lasts forever on exterior pieces

^dude what the hell are you doing to your car?

Please I mean please get the wal-mart shift knob and pedal kit off and strip the paint that looks horrible.

I like DupliColor spray paints. They have a carpet/vinyl paint. You can get that same paint at walmart for like $3.50 a can. I did mine in black and it works great, you can also use that stuff on your carpet. I did it as a quick cheap fix and it turned out really good and still lasting for about a year now.

Do you really need to bring back all the painted interior posts from the dead? Please look at the original post date before posting. :ohdamn:

WRONG They do make special paint that has special adhesion properties to CORRECTLY bond to plastic and vinyl. Will the krylon crap work yes. It was never designed to be applied to automotive plastics and vinyl products. These parts have different expansion and contraction rates than many other types of plastic used on consumer goods. Why do you think NO car maker uses painted dashes and plastic parts. Honestly paint was NEVER meant to stick to plastic it takes adhesion promoters other specialized chemical formulations to give a durable finish. The CORRECT way to paint your interior is to dye it. the dye doesn't care how hot or cold it is and wont flake off or wrinkle and look like doggie doo doo. You can rattle can all the parts you want but for the price you paid and the results down the road will speak for themselves if you dont use the right products. Painting is one of the most misunderstood mods by far. It took me a degree two certifications and four years to even scratch the surface. A good dye job will cost you welllllll over a grand when done professionally. The reason it will last forever when done correctly and wont flake chip or wrinkle. You can say well blah blah blah I have painted my car interior 20000 times and it looks fine a year later. I have dyed mine once and it still looks perfect and will continue to look perfect. All the crap in rattle cans is lacquer and there is a reason 99% of painters have retired the lacquer system because it sucks a fat one. if you paint your interior with a traditional automotive paint system that you add catalyst to the results will last three times longer than rattle can but is still not the right way to do it. I hope this helps

i dont know if any one here has but i know some kid who used car paint looks crazy any one ever do this i think i am going to try it out

Hello Guys,

i've painted all of my trims inside my car black with Fabric/Vinyl paint, including the rear seats everything from Tan to Black, but now that i've done this with about 2-3 coats each of the Fabric/Vinyl Paint, the surface on every piece that i've painted including the Seats, everything is like rough surface, i would like to know how can i make it smooth specially the seats how they used to be like smooth Vinyl, how can i get that same touch after i have already done this.. please let me know

Thank You..
