If your cars not roadworthy then why are you wasting money on paitning your interior?Bostedquest said:And I care what you think for what reason?...
Trust me if I had the 700 to redo the interior I would do it the way you describe, But quess what I DON'T. Hell I do not even have most of the money I need to get the car road worthy, so I am doing little things like this to pass the time.
I only painted the lower trim on the door panel carpet with the duplicolor, a fact that you might have learned had you clicked and looked.
Dye jobs last forever and don't "rub off" how do you think your seats got to be grey in the first place? Read up on it.
because it is only 30 bucks, not 400...97GS-TSpyder said:If your cars not roadworthy then why are you wasting money on paitning your interior?

armandovivoni said:ok my 2g interior is black and tan. Im converting it to completly black. I already did the door panels, floor carpet and roof but I need to know what paint to use for all the plastic parts. a paint that wont strip, rip, or scratch.

I'm not a big fan of the Fusion, personally I like to use Duplicolor Plastic/Vinyl/Fabric dye, that stuff will actually DYE the plastic or fabric or w/e you use, I used it on my GS to do the seats, carpet, doorpanels, and plastic of the car. I can throw up some pictures tonight when I get home from work but I like that. Moleculbond works good to, it has a flex agent into it that will mold to the plastic but I haven't used it as much.zachakagoat said:I'm not a big fan of the Fusion, personally I like to use Duplicolor Plastic/Vinyl/Fabric dye, that stuff will actually DYE the plastic or fabric or w/e you use, I used it on my GS to do the seats, carpet, doorpanels, and plastic of the car. . Anywayz the seats were easy to do just tape off the area and spray thin coats so it doesnt bleed through the tape.Tried that first... looked like shnit. never fully dried, warm day it got tacky all over again.zachakagoat said:I'm not a big fan of the Fusion, personally I like to use Duplicolor Plastic/Vinyl/Fabric dye, that stuff will actually DYE the plastic or fabric or w/e you use.
satin.armandovivoni said:nice! but does seats are fabric right? what about leather seats? can they be painted without you painting your ass when sitting on them?
also should a gloss black be used for the plastics to match the color of the black on the uper part of the dash? or should a flat black match?

Yes it was prepped.
Wiped with both paint thinner first, and then surface prep to get anything left behind.
Went to kylon fusion, 2 light and 1 good coat... looks great.
