Interior Lights Stay On

Ok I smelled some smoke on the inside of my car and then I noticed that the interior lights wont go off even with the door closed. I checked the contacts on the side where the door shuts and they are fine. When I pushed the button I could hear a click and I noticed it was coming from the driver's side by the rear speaker. I took it out and it was coming from this box that says "RECEIVER KEYLESS ENTRY". I was wondering if this is the problem or is there something else thats causing this. I searched everywhere and I havent found anything.

I forgot to mention that when I checked the fuse under the hood it looked blown but not all the way and somehow it still had a connection so I think thats why something may have gotten fried.

When you disconnected the box did it fix the problem? The receiver as far as I know is just the controller for the keyless.

no it didnt fix the problem, i thought maybe thats because the relay is what actually shuts the lights off so when its disconnected its not there to shut the lights off. is this correct? im so frustrated with this car, its one thing after the other.

i figured where the burning came from, somehow the lights in the rearview mirror shorted out. I unplugged the wire and now the other lights do go out when the door closes but my doorlocks dont work.

Your door locks most likely run through that box you took out. Put it back in and then try.

i put it back in and all it does is click. the doorlocks dont move at all.

i checked the fuse for the doorlocks and it was blown. the problem is every time i put in a new fuse it blows it as soon as i stick it in.

Then you have a short some where that you need to trace.
