Well i am having a problem, after i drive around and park i turn off the car but the brake lights stay on, i have to push the brake pedal a few times intul it gets stiff and then push it again and the lights turn off.

Perhaps the sensor on the brake pedal linkage is sticking.

Do the lights eventyally go out on their own, or do they stay on for long amounts of time?
Also, does it happen while you are driving (I know YOU can't look, but maybe someone could follow you and tell you their status while you engage / disengage the brakes)

Just a few suggestions.

The switch on the brake pedal is definately sticking or misadjusted or defective. It's about a 99% chance either the brake pedal is not returning all the way and/or the switch needs position adjustment.
Agreed, I haven't checked our particular car but most cars have a special switch that is deactivated when the brake touches it. There is a push button switch. Pressed in lights go out, let out lights stay on. You can fix this simply by twisting a nut that is usually on the button itself, or you can tape a piece of cardboard to the brake pedal and it will give you the extra adjustment you need. I rather you do it right. Either way works.

Most nuts are clearly visable behind the steering wheel. They may be loosened by excessive flapping of the tongue or tightened with liberal use of duct tape. :D

As for the brake switch:

Just a late note, don't forget to check that stopper, it's a common $2 Mitsu part that wears out and causes you brake lights to stay on. Mine had split in half, and was sitting on the floormat.
