interior lights don't come on

The interior lights only come on when the passenger door is opened. But when I open the driver's door, none of them come on. Also, is there supposed to be a warning beep if you leave your lights on and you take the keys out of the ignition and then open the door? Bec/ I've left my lights on 2 times now and I wondering if there's supposed to be a warning. The interior lights may not be an issue for other people, but it's important for me bec/ I'd like to have the car lit up before I get in it at night. Thanks in advance.

switch in door jam. they always go bad i replaced mine and it worked again for quite some time, then it went bad again after a few years. so i just said screw it

If you have a turbo timer obviously your car won't beep if you leave your lights on... happens to me all the time!!
