OK here it is.i've done a ic sprayer.used a saturn washer pump/line/nozzle and a autozone coolant tank.wired up a push button switch, worked fine.wanted to see if it really did anything so i bought an outside temp gauge from radioshack epoxied the sensor to the ic outlet.in traffic on 90f plus days the gauge would peg out past 160 if i was moving and hit the button within seconds the gauge would drop to 100f or lower.im working on an automatic system that uses boost pressure and temp to activate i.e.-map sensor and thermo resistor.not only to spray on ic but inject into manifold aswell.using a vw cis-e fuel pump/regulator and a 2 5th injectors,i will be able to set points of activation by temp and boost levels.hp levels-not sure.do ic sprayers work, yes.

how do you get in on the group buy? and would this kit work on the 1g? The website says it will fit any 2g and he custom makes it for you intercooler, but he doesn't say anything about the 1g.... (if he means 2gen dsm by 2g...)

Take a brass line and bend it into a square/rectangle shape (depending on your IC dimensions), poke small holes on one side of the brass line/bar. Attach a fitting to it to run a line to the brass bar. Run the line to your CO2 source. There you go....

get in the group buy by pm me. He will custom make a sprayer bar for your intercooler. All yu have to do is give him your core dimensions. Yes it will work for a 1g

A friend a I where on ebay and happend to run across this link about a mod for intercoolers appearntly it sprays CO2 into the intercooler to cool the air and give more power.... Tell me what you think i'm kinda curious about it, just wanted to get some ideas from the tuners out there! Is this shyt for real?????

The CryO² Intercooler Sprayer mounts directly to the front of the intercooler or aftercooler and vents the liquid Co² directly onto the cooling fins thus enhancing the performance of the intercooler by more than 50%. This component must always be the last in the CryO² system as it vents the liquid Co² charge.

Specification:
Mounts directly to the front of the intercooler or aftercooler.
Vents the liquid Co² directly onto the cooling fins.
Enhances the performance by more than 50%.

i don't see why it wouldn't work. it is a lot like the nx express n-ter-cooler. it just uses co2. from what i have heard, it works great, but i haven't personally seen any hard proof. i don't know about the people that have them on ebay though. but thats just me, im a little skeptical of ebay!

It does work. There's a few threads about this (and other related topics) around this site.

However, personally I'd look at the more traditional mods first. It doesn't have as much bang for the buck as some other mods you can do. And, it's only effective when engaged and for a few seconds afterwards. And you have to keep refilling your CO2 container.

It's not a bad mod or anything, I'd just look elsewhere first personally (though some will probably argue with me)

There is a very cool guy on the forums that goes by TWITCH. He makes ic sprayers his self, and you can't beat his price compared to the other kit's that are out there right now. I also think he has a web site for the kits, but I can't remember it right now. Maybe he will see this thread and chime in. Good luck!!

Yes they work, they shine mainly when you live in places where its hot (where i live...try 105f + degree weather every day of summer) and your intercooler eventualy dosent dissipate as much heat as it normally would (heat saturation), and i heard at the dino it makes huge jumps in power due to the fact the car is in a stand still without enough cooling air flowing for the intercooler (redundant?)

Annyways yes it works...but if you live in an allready chilly place might do less for u than for others

I actualy have a budy that is a nitrous xpress dealer and they sell n-ter coolers that use either nitrous or co2. If you use the nitrous it can add anywhere between 50-55 hp.

"For supercharged or turbo applications where nitrous is not an option, NX offers another alternative, the “N-tercooler”. Using either nitrous or CO2 this unit can reduce air inlet temperatures dramatically. In a recent dyno test, a turbocharged Honda, equipped with an NX “N-tercooler ”, increased its baseline by an astounding 52 horsepower! If it makes horsepower, it must be Nitrous Express!"

* grabs pin to burst bubble

the NX setup is N2O free....its just a CO2 cooling system

*read UP TO 50 hp gain (thats the max..thats not the average or minimum)

Thats on a heat saturated IC...if your IC is working properly...(ie. you have enough airflow going through it)......the power added should not be so dramatic...still 20-30 hp sound good...so go for it

my favorite way to cool air post intercooler is through direct water injection with a lil methanol ..

just think of how much the intake temp will drop if you are using -100 degree liquid co2 OMG

Couple questions:

How long will a 5lb bottle last? And how much would it cost to fill it?

How big is a 5lb tank and how is the tank to be mounted inside the car?

Thanks.

first off although i have only read the first page, this is an old idea nothing new, and how hard is it to put the tank in the glove box where it's not in sunlight.....

Okay, don't flame me, it's just an idea... but hell, it works and it's ultra-cheap and ultra-easy to do... and maintenance free.

1.) Get a super-soaker water gun from Target or wherever
2.) Get some nice thin plastic flex hose from your local hardware or autozone store.
3.) Run that to your intercooler and mount it somehow.. Duct-tape will work.
4.) Now make the flex hose fit snug with the super-soaker water gun and hit the trigger. :)

Now say to yourself, "Look 'ma! I just made myself a water intercooler sprayer from my old super-soaker toy gun." This is probably not as effective as a co2 intercooler sprayer, but it's still a cool idea, quite literally.

Hehe, you heard it here first.

Yes, the new EVOs have a water sprayer. The idea is that water tranfers heat much better than air plus it's at a lower temperature. CO2 works just as good if not better though since it is very cold.

Dude thats some ghetto s hit.. CO2 sprayers are expensive but how can you taint your eclipse like that?? a 97 no less.. come on man.. sounds like something off a honda forum. They use nylons for air filters too..

Defiant -- LOL, you're killing me here.

Civileclipse -- True true, it is very ghetto, as stated in the topic. But I see it as a real decent solution to a big problem with our sidemounts, that is, heat-soak.

Anyway, it costs less than $10 if you already have an old supersoaker sitting around, you midn as well. If not, new soakers are $19.99 @ Target with a 65oz tank.
