My intercooler fins all the way in front are chipping off and are bad is it ok to just take them off since there bad and cant be bent back anyway? i see a fresh row behind them so it shouldnt effect the performance of it right? i mean its not leaking.

well the car has only been mostly highway all its life so you know how stuff flys and hits the fins its a greddy xtra larger intercooler. im sure its sucking alot of air plus temps here at night are 50s.

Dont rig it. Leave the fins in the intercooler, they are there for a reason. If they are bent, just bend them back.

Spend a couple of hours and do it the right way.

Grab a little flathead screwdriver and some patience and go to town. What I did at least.

Take a small screwdriver and carefully attempt to straighten them. Dont take them out, not only does it ruin how the intercooler works but it would look like a person with missing teeth, it directs your eyes to the gap.

My A/C codenser fins were all bent, took a couple hours unbending them, of course there not like new but hopefully it will have a litte more effect then the fins being bent 90 degrees.

Also if you want to prevent this from happening anymore, pick up a grill for your bumper, yes GRILL haha, or custom fab your own.

Good point with the grill. I have a co-worker who drives a pretty lame turboed Accord, he took some pet proof door screen, it's real thick and can barely be cut or punched through, and made a decent looking shield. You can't see it unless you actually look, but it protects his FMIC well.

Straighten the ones that you can, and pull out the ones which are fubar'd with a pair of needlenose pliers. Just be careful to only grab the top row. That's what I did with mine and everything is peachy.

yea thats what i did i know its not gonna effect its performance since its all the way in front when i removed some all the way in the beginning the ones behind it are the ones that look like vents so those you dont wanna touch. the car has been driven on the highway almost all its life so at them speeds that intercooler aint gonna look perfect.
