Intake temps after quarter mile

Holset HX-35 at 30psi, VRSF front mount. Started at 99-100 and crossed the line at 133 This past weekend at Shootout.
 
I was seeing just a touch more. Mine were starting at 100*, and ending at 145*. This was on a HE351 at 36psi or so, 3.8" thick Garrett core as well.

One thing for all to remember, the gm ait sensor is not a particularly fast responding sensor. Your intake temps may be way higher at the end of a pull than what it is showing. It takes time for the sensor to warm up.
 
Appreciate the responses. I'm running speed density and at the time was at 36 psi on a first gen 6262 when these intake temps were recorded. The FMIC came with the donor car that I used to build this current car. Granted, the front bumper covers a third of the core so I will try to find a way to open up for more flow without losing the stock appearance.
 
You won't pick up much by opening up the front. During a drag pass the core acts more like a heat sink, than an exchanger. The recovery after a pass will be effected by the open area though.

If you look hard you can find pictures of really fast cars with the core covered up by ductape. The aero gains more than offset the power loss.
 
I'm glad someone started this thread. I was also wondering what IATs others were seeing after passes at the track. I think I saw as high 145* after hotlapping the Galant 2 passes. It was ~90* outside with high humidity. This was on a FP3052, and I'm probably pushing close to the edge of the map boost/airflow wise, which I figued didn't help the IATs any.

I thought 145* was high, and added an intercooler upgrade to my future nice to have list...But seems like that may not be worth while.

During cruise I'm just obver ambient. I'd need to go check what my IATs look like after a 3rd gear pull.
 
When I pulled on Buschur's dyno in third gear, my temps went up from 93* to 111* and back down to 97* by the time it did a second pull. (had 36 seconds between pulls) I still feel like that's kind of high though.

After scratching my head for some time and tracing around as to why the heck my IATs were so high, I finally found a small exhaust leak undetected at idle but under full throttle, happens to leak considerably between the O2 housing and the downpipe and soaks my intercooler piping in hot air. Still appreciate the responses because I will come back to them.
