I pay 10 bucks a month for just liability. Thats going to change when I put it under Florida insurance though...I still have PA insurance.

345 a month, 7 speeding tickets and two wreckless ops..... also have had three liscences... hmmm might wanna slow down right? :notgood:

Has anyone been able to get agreed value insurance on their car? Agreed value isurance involves the insurance company agreeing to a value for the car, and then charging you accordingly. I have only been able to find this available on classic cars. Has anyone been able to find this for their daily driver?

Huh? When did they start to insure cars younger than 25 years?

I know they have an age min. for MA.

Hey Y'all, I just want to start off buy saying I already understand that everyones insurance rates are different based on record, state, car etc.... Ive looked at many of these posts before.

My Questions to you guys is how much of a jump in insurance did you see from going from a T/E/L NON TURBO to a T/E/L TURBO. And I'm specifically talking about 2gnt to 2g Turbo. I finally have some money saved up to buy a turbo dsm that I'm going to keep( The 91 GST in the profile is gone and was never insured because I didnt own it for long enough) And I'm looking for 2g Talon or Eclipse Turbo.

The Interesting thing I found is that using progressive to get some kind of general Idea, I did it twice, All the same info and Liability Limits, just one was entered with a 95 Gs and the other was entered as a 95 TSI AWD. My quote for the Turbo AWD was actually LOWER then the 95 Eclipse GS WTF . This kind of Shocked me. It wasn't by much, difference being about 30 bucks a month. The Only thing I can think of is I remember hearing from someone that Insurance companies actually consider AWD a SAFETY FEATURE.. thus lowering your insurance

Just looking for some input, Thanks in advance for the advice! :dsm:

EDIT: I forgot to mentions that my current insured car is a 95 Eclipse GS

Not too sure how much this is going to help you, since it's not dsm -> dsm.....but it is a N/a -> turbo.
I had a 1993 Prelude Si, with liability and one or two other things on there, got rid of it, and got my 2G GST, with the same insurance coverage, and saw a total jump of about 20-30$ a month.
Like i said, no idea if that will help at all....but i did expect a bigger jump in insurance going from n/a to turbo. Was pleasantely surprised. Then again, my insurance company adores me. :thumb:

i went from a 1998 GS to a 1997 GS-T. In my case we simply added a "5th car" to our family of four's 4 cars (kept the GS as primary car, GS-T as a secondary). Garaged and behind a gate, and officially only driven for "pleasure" and low miles a year, the insurance rate was less than half of what the 98 GS was. However if it were simply a straight switch from gs to gs-t instead of simply adding another car, it would have increased by 20%

I had a 95 Talon ESi and I was paying $60 a month for liability only. Now with my 95 Talon TSi AWD im paying $160 a month for full coverage. I am getting ripped off by Progressive but hopefully I will sell my car soon and get another talon ROFL

Actually, when I was looking at a GST a while back I called my insurance company and the rate actually was lower than what I was paying for my GS Spyder. I thought that was interesting. I guess because it's a convertible it's more dangerous than a turbo.

i went from a 95 GS to a 91 TSi and insurance went down considerably? Could be alot of things but thats my personal experience. And one more thing DONT LIVE IN NY BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL BEND YOU OVER!!!!! :notgood:

two tickets without points, an accident they dont know about, (all on the old car). i'm 17, about 1075/year or 88/mo on my parents name...not sure whats the deductible is, geico insurance.

Yes, yes it is. Sorry for not searching for the first time. I'm just pissed that my dad is to lazy to travel 3 hours for a car because he must inspect it on his own to see if I can buy it or not, and I must have 2g in the bank which is going to take me another month PLUS! sell the truck, I'm just going to put it up for a grand and let it sell easly. So then I'll have 3g in the bank, but that is all if there is a tsi AWD or eclipse AWD within 50 miles of here(which there wont be). No one is going to want to bring it up and I just don't know what I'm going to do....there just simply wont be one up for sale locally.

mines under my parents name, full coverage, as me being the secondary driver :tease: , they are makin me pay roughly $1500/yr, even though it has only been a few months of me having my dsm, thats what we figured, i guess ill find out the real amount when the year is over, plus im gonna save a bit more when i take it off the road come winter. It would be a whole different story if it was under my own name ROFL

Keep searching. I see cars for sale all the time in MI. Don't check your paper expecting to find them. Check out the classifieds or DsmTrader. I see at least 2 cars a day from MI on the Trader.

'79 dodge truck and only pay $80/month($480/6months) liability

My insurance comp. told me that if I got a 1997 gsx I would only pay $75/month($450/6months) for liability because it would have airbags and the truck didn't :rocks:
