Insurance goes against everything I believe in, driving fast without consequences. So with the help of Allstate cancelling me, and my religious values I no longer have insurance.

Won't it be fun when you get into an accident and are sued for hundreds of thosands, possibly millions of dollars and it has to come out of your pocket! Yeah, insurance is a waste of money

ok wait, i was thinking about doing this with a car that i want to buy, but only cuz it would be a weekender/i would probably end up building the engine myself and never driving it, so im just wondering, is the dmv really chill with that where you live, or what?

its an $1100 fine where i live if you get caught driving without insurance, but you could always just get liability

people taking things to seriously, i really do have insurance, i pay 500 a month for my eclipse and my 2004 Navigator

im 17 and i only pay 150 a month because i have a good student discount

man you guys need to look into getting some new insurance, i dont pay that much on my 03 350z with full coverage, its only like 200 a month! thats with only 1k dollar deductible and full coverage. My 96 tsi awd is 60/month

im 18 and I have a 21 over speeding ticket, that was suppost to be removed because I made a deal with the judge to write a 3000 word essay so i dunno if that changes anything cuz my friend has no tickets and pays that. also I get a good student discount as well, and a number of other discounts. Plus my mom works for Allstate, just out of curiousity I did a quote from progressive..........

Your 6 month policy premium Pay in full - $3,858.50 OMG :(

TSI's are a little cheaper in oregon...

I pay 31 bucks a month for my TSI AWD and its converted to look like a eclipse, I have the best of both worlds :) mawhahahahha

I've heard that insurance on a gsx is supposed to be less since it's awd (safety factor  ) so it would handle better in the snow than a gst would. But the gsx's blue book value is higher than that of an same year gst model. So.........insurance is higher on which one?

Plus, while I'm here  .......I had another question. After how many miles should the timing belt on a dsm be changed?

i looked it up through esurance and its about 500-600 dollars cheaper to own the FWD. and thats having the owner being 22 years old having no accidents or anyhting on there record and having a license from 16-now. on a 97 gsx/gst and having both cars paid for.

then i looked up on a 97 gsx/tsi(awd) and the price came to the same difference 500-600$ cheaper for the TSI(AWD)

so insurance on the fwd is less?
Couple of more questions :coy: . The timing belt has to be changed after how many miles?

And I know that the gst gets better gas milage but by how much? Is there a big differnce or is it barely noticable?

the GS-T gets about 1-3 mpg more average according to mitsu. The GSX is 21, 27 for sure and i THINK the GS-T is 23-31. But this is the factory claim.

I've heard that AWD is more dangerous, because by the time it loses grip, you'll be heading for a much more serious crash.

Ah, but we hear lots of things, don't we? :|

My insurance on a stock 2Gb GSX and a modded 2Gb GS-T was about a $10 difference. My GS-T insurance could be higher because the car has no ABS, or because it is loud, has a kit, and rims.

Wow Defiant. This is your first reply to my threads where you didn't have to close the topic :D :thumb:

Basically, I think im paying to much for my 95 talon. for some reason insurance for me is always insanely high, and I all kinds of discounts to.

but im paying about $220-$240 a month for this thing  everyone else I know at a similar age and status (about 19-20 years old, no speeding tickets) and they pay maybe half of what I do.

I cant reallyy justify that much a month for this car, but what makes it even worse is I got a 10 over ticket, and after talking to insurance, if I dont win in court im going to have to pay an extra $110 a month

in that case I have to sell the car, and I sure dont want a neon or cavalier again.

So what do you pay?

110 a month for 2 cars.
99 passport (full)
90 talon (liability)

That is with 1 accident (18 months old, and my wife hitting a dear last december)
29 years. Clean otherwise.

$3,647.92 per year for basic liability... keep in mind.. not a single moving violation and a drivers ed and defensive driving discount... but i live in nyc

18, "good student" discount (10% I think,) no tickets, everything except for collision, $800 a year.

Lets see I pay 700 dollars every 6 months for full coverage on a Mustang and my Eclipse
