alright, Let say you have full coverage insurance, and lets say your car gets stolen. Now upon retreival of your car , alot of oem stuff was stolen like the mas uicp, the windows were broken, the doors were ####ked, and lets even say the turbo was stolen. Is the insurance comapny supposed to get you your stuff back with oem parts on the car? Or can they use used parts? Thanks.

Usually when it's stolen, it's totaled out. You can buy your car back from them though and use the extra money to replace your parts.

I hope this isn't some idea you are using to make my insurance rates go up even more.

Friend on this board got his car stolen, they foudn it,the whole uicp is missing, the mas with intake pipe and filter is missing, his windshield is broken, the door locks are messed up, like the door wont close , the hindges maybe ####ked, the radio is gone, the passengers side window is broken, the drivers door handle is meesed up.

the insurance cut him 490$ for fixing the shit, Im taking a huge guess that it wont be new parts, I called the dealer and a new mas costs about 250$ adn I knwo a new windshield goes for about 150$ and all the other stuff sure ass hel aint under 100$ , especially the radio, the dealer sells the readio for a shitload of money. so 490 and hes gotta pay a 500$ deductible, they still make 10$ offa his ass. wtf! Better Business Bureau anyone?

When my car got crashed, I paid the deductible, but the Insurance company dealt with paying the shop. Just have your friend tell their agent that they'd rather have the insurance deal directly with the shop instead of cutting him a check. That way, everything should be covered as far as parts cost and such.

Luckily for me, since the person that hit me took off, which means there was no proof of insurance, i got my deductible waived and got it back in the mail yesterday actually.

this mainly goes out to all the younger people (16-20) , just askin what insurance company you guys recommend and about how much you pay per year.... i have reckless driving and 6 speeding points so insurance is a big issue for me.

I am 17 and have Geico with a clean record for a year and a half. Getting me a 98 GSX and its gonna cost me 2300 a year. (under my mom who has clean driving record for 23 years)

im on my own insurance... my previous car (mustang) was 580 a month or 6700 a year

Damn! I'd be taking the bus.

Back when I was 17, I had 14 points on my license and progressive wanted $3000 for 6 months! I would never pay that much. I found a company that checked my backround and only found one ticket, LOL. I paid like $1400 for 6 months and $300 for full coverage storage for the winter. I havent had a moving violation sice I was 17, and now that I'm 21, Progressive only costs me $1200 for 6 months for all three of my vehicles.

To you young guys- Be smart when driving. Dont get caught doing stupid stuff like I did. As time goes by, your insurance will drop. Just bare with it for now. :thumb:

yea i had a saturn and a 5.0 mustang runnin mid 13's but got all my tickets in that damn saturn... LOL i think i found a good insurance agent tho and she is hooking me up for $175 a month for the talon :)

Friendly reminder, you cannot compare rates amongst different people. You can compare between companies for yourself.

i was just lookin for an idea of a price range, and curious too see what other people are forced to pay

Perfectly understandable. :)

You definitely should run as many quotes as you are willing to have reflected on your credit report (might not apply in your state, it sure does here in WA). :thumb:

Well, i WAS paying 1400 a YEAR for liability with AAA until they found out about my accident, it jumped back up to 2100 a year. (1996 Eclipse GST) No tickets, just one accident.

Keep in mind that insurance rates vary a great deal depending on where in the U.S. you live. And for that matter, rates can vary quite a bit based on what section of a city you live in. You could have a worse record than someone else and pay less (with the same company) based on the zip code that the insurance company is using when giving you their quote. You might try listing your car with the insurance company at a relative's house or something to see if it varies.

Also remember that insurance companies are increasingly using credit ratings when determining how much your premiums will be. They are starting to look at a lot more than just our driving records.

Good luck man.

Im 17, one speeding ticket and pay 246 a month for full insurance on a 99 n/t
