where I live we basically only have one insurance company that covers everybody(ICBC). We get discounts of 5% every year as well. I pay $310 canadian a month(about 4000 a year) but I also have Delivery insurance because I deliver Pizza.

17 years old, perfect record , about 60 a month at state farm for liability.(with good student discount, and i went through this course to get another discount)

i have a aig and they are pretty cheap im 21 and i pay 120. nad i had a bad driving record when i started off.

I'm with Progressive, shelling out $7,000 for 6 months (No other insurance would consider me), 18 years old, with 1 accident resulting in $75,000 worth of damage, and 1 failure to yield ticket resulting from that accident.

Uh...i pay $84 for six months and im 16. I am insured under my parents, they use Pekin Insurance out of Illinois. My dad put himself as the primary driver to save me LOTS of money. My parents have claimed once that i can think of. I drive a 1996 eclipse gst. Auto and Red. I've never had any accidents, but ive had lots of close calls that wouldnt have been my fault.

$430 for six months, on a 1997 GST, I'm 24, had two accidents, one resulting in a totalled vehicle....and two speeding tickets.....Yay for USAA.

ouch! if i was in your situation id probly be peddling ever where i go....

About 600$ every 6 months. Since I was 16. State farm. Pretty much full coverage. 100$ deductibles. Under mommys name.

She has a clean record and I dont have any thing on my record.

There are some online calculators on the web. Using them you can see how your coverage options and personal information affect the bottom line. Liability coverage for instance is only about half of the complete coverage.

Good grade, if you are a student, will lower your rates. State farm has a program where you watch a video and fill out a quiz, bring it to the office and they give you a discount.

I have Pregressive insurance and I received a letter in the mail today stating the following:

"Important notice about your policy. Information recently received indicated that the 1999 Mitsu Eclipse is being used for racing purposes. This type of vehicle use is unacceptable and is not covered by our auto policy contract. Unfortunately, we will not be able to extend an offer to renew your policy at the next policy period."

Aint that some $hit! Honestly, I've never once had my car at the track. It's only ever been to car shows so far, because I'm still working on the performance side of it. And these morons want to cancel me because it's "modified". What pisses me off the most is when I stated this policy 3 months ago, they asked me if it was modified. I replied "yes", and then they offered me "extra" insurance to cover the aftermarket parts. I just really hate working with insurance companys, and I needed to vent.

[end rant]

plain and simple......sue them for being a big ugly pile of smelly mollasses(sp?) :thumb:

Dude, I wish it was that easy.

I have an appointment with the claim dept. today in 3 hours. I have to give them a tour of my car. LOL, these guys dont know $hit about DSM's. They've never heard of an intercooler, and they were most concerned about the hood pins. In 3 hours, I'm gonna give these turds a piece of my mind.

Did you at least get the dough from them for your most recent repairs?

Yeah, they sent me $1149 for my intercooler, and $460 for new paint for the front bumper. :thumb: They're probably just pissed off about that recent claim and now they're making up every excuse possible to cancel me. I'll get the last laugh though.....

Make sure you ask them for a copy of the 'information' that they have that says you've been racing. It seems like you'd at least have the right to see it. If you say you've never had your car on a track, i'd seek legal counsel... that is if you want to fight it and not just move on.

Weird - I've had Progressive for a few years now - and they've never given me any problems with my modifications. In fact, they replaced the aftermarket parts that were damaged in the accident I had last year - good as new!

that sh*tty dude. When I was covered by AIG here in Germany, I had both the Talon and the 626 on a policy, I get a letter one day saying that the policy on the 626 was cancelled. So I stopped paying them. Well in Germany once you get a policy, you have to fully pay for that policy for a full year. So they turned the remaining balance of $860 to a collection agency because I stopped paying and they said the talon was still on a contract. They threaten to sue me for the remaining balance. I was young and scared at the time and agreed to pay them. Looking back I should have declined the settlement because

1)They modified my contract without my consent, resulting in a breech of contract.
2)I was in a contract with them for a year, neither of us could release it without the other so by releasing the 626 I had a case against them to get the balance that I had already paid for both cars.
3)They are a german company, I'm american. And i have certain rights under the SOFA that protect me.

Read your policy. It will tell you that modifying your suspension geometry (lowering/raising) will void your policy. They just found a reason to drop you because they deem you too great a liability.
