installing joint nuts..?

My friend has an eclipse that im helping him work on and when we try to install the nuts for the joints next to the trailer arm the joints keep moving with the nut. How can we stop the joints from rotating with the nut without damaging anything??

Assuming your talking about the ball joints, you can vice grip them and that will keep them from spinning.

Apply pressure in the same direction as they fit in so that your forcing the joint into it's fitting. That will help hold the shaft while you tighten the nut. I use clamps or vice grips where they will fit and jacks on things like control arms.
