General Installing Evo 8 MAF into 1G aircan

Anyone have a how-to or some pics on how this was done? I could have sworn I have seen pics of this somewhere, but an hour of searching everywhere has only come up with this thread, which didn't really appeal to me:

Just curious- what is the benefit (aside from OEM appearance) to doing this over using the adapter plate to clamp a filter directly to the inlet of the Evo MAS then attaching the whole works to your intake pipe? Just seems like losing the whole big metal base of the 1G MAS canister would free up lots of space and look cleaner.
