2G Installing clutch, need help

hey guys first time installing a clutch, need to know what I'm missing, I put the flywheel on and torqued it to about 85 ft lb of pressure. I don't know if I should put thread locker, put clutch, then pressure plate. I torqued that to about 14 ft lb what else should i do?

You don't need the thread locker just double check the specs on how much torque is needed.
When you take out the alignment tool put it back in and make sure it goes all the way in and nothing seems loose. (make sure you greased up the tool and run some grease on the inside of the inner clutch where the tool goes)

What happens if it isn't torqued to right specs. I think its supposed to be 100lb and I put them at 85. What can happen?
What kind of grease do I use?

thats an aftermarket fly wheel?? what brand?? look up the flywheel brand on here. if its fidanza then u might need something more.

I believe the torque specs for the flywheel to crankshaft bolts are between 96-104

100 is what i always put them to.

It's an ACT flywheel.
Is the clutch supposed to be tight between the flywheel and pressure plate?

Yes. If it wasn't it wouldn't work. When the clutch pedal is pressed down it releases he pressure.

Personally, Ive never heard of anyone using grease here. Youll be fine. If you put grease in there the centrifugal force will sling it all over the place and youll have a cluch slipping issue. Grease your pivot ball for sure but nothing near the clutch.

Yeah, grease is needed... but not as much as that torque.

Take that pressure plate off and torque that flywheel to 100LBS.

If you do not... well... you can half-ass expect one of the bolts to come backing out of there in no time. Infact, if it does, the first thing that goes is the clutch. If too many back out, there goes your flywheel firing through your transmission, likely taking your engine with it.

It's better to be safe while you can. Do not rush to get that trans up.

Flywheel Bolts - 95-100LBS. Yes, there's a big difference in the 10LBS.
Pressure Plate Bolts - 15LBS
Grease the inner teeth of the clutch
Grease the springs of the clutch.
Grease the TOB to Transmission Shaft contact surfaces.
Grease the Clutch Fork Ball Socket

When you are all finished up make sure your read up on properly bleeding your clutch too. And also adjust your clutch pedal rod the proper way and check your pedal assembly for wear.
