Ive searched for days with no results so here we go. I just bought this laser and it has a dead clutch pedal. Naturaly i checked the master and slave cylinder, and found the slave to be leaking. Like a cheap bastard i bought a $35 ebay slave and installed with a new ss line. The installation was easy except i had a hard time fitting the slave into the clutch fork. I ended up moving the fork manually and installed the slave with no problem. After bleeding the system i started the car, and low and behold the clutch wont disengage. I believe the problem is the cheap slave, it is totally different from the stock, the banjo bolt and bleeder valve are on opposite sides. Ive already ordered a new oem slave and i am hoping this will solve the issue. Just wanted some feed back because i found no help with search.

This caught my attention.
If you had to manually adjust the fork to fit the new slave cylinder, than it isn't allowing the fork to return - causing the rod to push out the fork constantly keeping the clutch engaged.

Sorry to thread jack but i'm having the same problem...

in the picture below one of those things with the boot just comes right off of the thing attached to the tranny. what is suppose to keep that thing in place? do i need to change the entire slave cylinder? i had my clutch replaced recently and i think the guy forgot to bolt it down some how

What is that picture of? it doesn't even look like a hydraulic clutch? The things with the boots are shifter cables there are clips that hold them to the brackets, it has nothing to do with your slave cylinder.

If you are referring to the 2 cables on top of the transmission, they are the shifter linkage. They are not related to your slave cylinder, which has 2 bolts to the transmision, and the slave rod to push the shift fork. There is a mount to secure the line in front of the trasmission, should be alond side a ground. I believe these are 12mm.

The shifter cables attach to the transmission with a cotter pin on each cable. The mount to secure this to the transmission is directly behind the boots., and it is secured with two 12mm bolts. You can get a small clamp of your likings, remove the cotter pin. Slide the clamp over the cable and secure it around the boot, it doesn't need to be extremely tight. If the boot is worn and mangled it would not be a bad idea to replace it.

Hope this helped.

Thanks guys, waiting for the slave to arrive from jacks transmissions. Ill update when its installed.

I know you didn't mention it but just curious if you have one of the extended slave rods in there being that it was from ebay maybe it came with one? Anyways I had the same problem with using a longer rod the clutch would not disengage itself. I ended up putting a shorter one back in.

No i believe the rod is the stock length. Im assuming the plunger inside the slave has less travel, which isnt allowing the rod to retract enough to disengage the clutch. Just a theroy though.

Makes sense, i guess i was just too anxious to drive it so i ignored obvious problems with the slave. Thanks for your input.
