injector size & tuning options

I'm new to 1g and have read that I can get a chip burned or something along the lines of a reflash? Just a little confused about the terms and what each of the tuning options are. I ran a safc when I had the 2g but I've read that there are other options besides this the DSM Link. I have a gm maf and maft v2.02 sitting here and have heard that this version does a good enough job for a 550/650 range? I will be running the 255/afpr, 16g @ ~19lbs, and would like some options for tuning with a perspective injector size. Not looking to spend more than $400 on the tune + injectors....

Well then i would go the other route until you have enough money for the ecmlink.. Or you can research dsmap, jackal, which also offer a continuous control over the car.. jackal will convert you to speed density..

A 12.9 on a GST mind you running 21psi....with basically no tune? ### from what it sounds like you are just starting to tune, or you bought the car like that and someone else originally tuned it. My friend couldnt break into the 12's and he was running 23psi on a big 16g (traction issues but still).

So I checked out last night and do NOT have an eprom ecu

Remember, ECMLink can convert your non eprom to an eprom ecu for $165 as stated on their site. The other options that were listed above are good alternatives as well.

There are two different cars in this thread:
1. The 2g gst tuned with a safc. You can call bs all day but I cannot find the timeslip. I got about a dozen plus runs in that night the rest being low 13's...

2. The 1g tsi - no work done yet and was confused about the different tuning options as I've only worked with the safc before.


I now understand the different routes I can go with thanks you all the dsm experts and the rest of my questions can be answered using the search button

We are by no means experts but glad to help you out though. You have time to figure out everything it seems so you'll be set by that time comes around.
