Today I found a pocketlogger for sale for a decent price. Its a palm 3x with mmc program with all the wiring. I don't have any tuning devices at the moment. I was interested in dsmlink but I dont know if there is a point in getting it for the goals I have. Basically stage one, plan on staying on stock injectors, 190 pump, and 16-17 psi on the 14b. My question is would it be worth it to get the logger now to see whats going on with the car and gaining the experience? Should I hold out and get dsmlink or should I get the logger and eventually get safc and wideband? Btw the car is a very close to stock 92 talon.

First check to see if you have an eprom ecu. If not add $150-200 to the cost of whatever tuning method you chose. And there are alot for the 1g's.

I prefer:

DS-MAP - Index

Newest version only runs $20. Tunes speed density so you can throw that maf in the trash where it belongs. Has a built in logger with "cell tracking". Full tuning capabilities. Also has a very helpful forum and a complete how-to-guide.

There are also people getting tunerpro(which is free) set up for dsm's over at
DSM ECU

Other then that there are many people that will burn/flash chips for you and your specific set up for fairly cheap.

Also if that logging set up is cheap enough you may still want to grab it up. Much easier then carrying a laptop around in your car. Also attracts less attention and less likely to have your car broke into.
