Im looking to step into the world of tuning but the only laptop i have is a Mac. I have v3 loaded on my computer and it looks great but no eprom.
I have the 98 flashable ecu so i could flash it usung ceddy files but i dont think its mac compatable? Am i wrong about that?

I guess what im getting at is whats the best logging and tuning option for a 98 ecu + a macintosh?

Oh well first of all i refuse to go back to windows.. :p And although its off topic i would say scrap the macbook air.. Just get a regular macbook or macbook pro, way worth it..

You could probably run a virtual PC on the Mac to use for tuning.

Definately could, but That would require running windows and thats exactly what i dont want to do. Call me a pain in the @$$ but once you go mac ya never go back

Any macintosh tuners have advice? I would really like to try using the ecu i have already

there is a link to download ecuflash 1.38 for OSX 10.4... it absolutely positively will work with Ceddy mods (they are just an add in set of definitions for ecu flash)... the OP2.0 flash adapter on the other hand... does not.. however, after reading through some of the threads the workaround is bootcamp.

sorry.

Download EcuFlash

Here is a quote on the system requirments for DSMlink v3 from there website:
Mac OS X / Linux
Unfortunately, we just don't have enough experience using ECMLink with these systems to really recommend a specific configuration. We do know, however, that you'll need at least Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or Linux kernel v2.4.20. You can actually use an older Linux if you want, but you'll be required to manually build and install the device driver from source. Mac OS X 10.4 is required because that's the version Apple introduced the ability to specify a custom baud rate (required to talk to the ECU).

I have a mac book too and that is what I'm planning on using with v3 so if anyone has used it successfully, please let us know!
