hello I am looking for a good REPUTABLE brand to order a set of injectors from. Now i want ONLY "Bolt On" injectors, I have heard horror stories of people purchasing injectors and having to drill out fuel rails and such.....I don't want to do that. What about FIC? and good/negative reviews?

Mitsubishi Fuelinjectorclinic

What do they mean by "Low-Z"?????????? and they also have strange size injectors, are the 650cc or the 750cc injectors supported by dsmlink? Please advise with input and experience. Thanks :rocks:

ive had no issues so far with my FIC 650s... i am using ecuflash and not link, however... nice to see someone else from southern oregon, im from GP

Low impedance! The turbo DSM's use low impedance injectors with a resister pack. So order "Low-Z" injectors.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. I'm thinking of going with the 850's because its only $10 more for the 850's than for the 750's. I figure i would get bigger than just tune down, so i don't max out the injectors, plus with 850's i can run bigger than a E3B16G :)

You are welcome! Yeah I mentioned at the top of this thread that I was planning on going with 750's but now I'm planning on going with a 20g instead of a 16g so I may opt for 850's as well. Not 100% sure yet. I'll be tuning with v3 lite too.

Why a 20G? I heard that they spool really slow and make the same ammount of power as an 18G, why not just get an 18G, have a faster spool time than the 20G and make the same power?

You've got that a little backwards. They say the 18g spools like a 20g and makes power like a 16g. The worst of both worlds.

I'm FWD so I want something that spools slower. A big 16g with all that punch hitting hard all at once and I won't be able to get out of the hole. I'm leaning towards either a Buschur Racing TDO5/6 hybrid 20g or just a plane jane TDO6 20g with an external actuator. I need to make more power later in the RPM's.

Would it be overkill to go with 850's since i am currently running an E3B16G? Would it be hard to idle and cruise with 850's or would 750's be about the same to tune and everything?

I don't know personally but according to biker joe a few posts up:

I'm running FIC 850's got them dialed in with link with no problems. Zero issues with these injectors.

If you look in his profile he's running an EIII big 16g with 850's.

You have this backwards a 18g will spool faster than a 20g and flows more than a 16g and makes more peak power.

I have never used either turbo personally but I didn't just make my statement up. Let me site a source. Here is an excerpt from the book "How To Build Max Performance Mitsubishi 4G63t Engines" by Robert Bowen with Robert Garcia of Road/Race Engineering:

"Of the two "big MHI turbos, the 20G is arguably the better one. The 18G's 590-cfm flow rating is only about 10 cfm more than the EVO III 16G turbo's flow rating, which isn't enough of an advantage to make up for the 18G's vastly increased lag. By using an 18G instead of an EVO III 16G or similar you'll be giving up 500 rpm of streetable spool for maybe 10-20 hp, depending on several factors. On the other hand, install a 20G on your DSM or EVO and you'll be looking at a potential of 400 hp at the wheels with about the same spool as the 18G. There's an old DSM saying; "The 18G has all the lag of the 20G with all the power of a 16G."

End quote.

I second that, I have the same book and it says the same thing in mine also.

How old is that book? There are many different options for 18g's theses days for instance fps sl2 which they were showing 400hp with them. Yes I know that old saying I have been around dsm's for over 12 years alot has changed since those days!
