just woundering if a leak at the injector seals would cause a hard start problem in the cold?? :hmm:

i have new lower seals, the ones that sit in the manifold and also new o rings at the rail.... the only thing that i think is weird is the O rings at the bottom of the injectors, there like a big gap like if the o rings were not big enough??? i put some RTV on there but still is not snug. i bough the injector seal kit from extremepsi a while ago...

The injectors insulators are the ones that go around the injector pintle and fit into the manifold so which seal are you asking about. If the insulator doesn't seal the injector to the intake manifold you have both a vacuum leak and a boost leak.

RTV...yikes! I don't like that one bit...but,

A leaky injector/bad o-ring can definately cause a hard start situation.

ok well seriously i remember buying the kit from extreme psi...

i dont have the sheets at all...just the insulators i guess!! when i got my kit from them i figured i can throw away everything except for the fuel rail spacers. i guess thats why my injectors are barely going into the insulators...yikes....whats weird is that i was boosting 10 pounds just fine.... ( stock wastegate spring pressure ) and i wasent having any problems with boost leaks, then the car stared making a hissing noise from time to time and it only got worse....so i dunno. i had no clue there are sheets, insulators and o rings on the manifold side of the injectors.

my insulators are snug into the manifold with rtv around them so they dont come out when everytime i pull my injectors... my problem is the o ring from the injectors dont fit far enough into the insulators...

im gonna go take pictures....

I wouldn't exactly recommend RTV. Gasoline eats RTV, or rather, "melts" it. If your under vacuum this can cause the RTV to get sucked into the intake and throughout the motor causing build up on various internal parts.

Probably not going to happen to a great extent here but just a heads up for future use.

yeah sorry for the double thread, i was needing an answer right away and didnt seem to find my post for some reason... thanks for the help Steve!
