I decided to do a boost leak test on my car. I found a big leak on one injector seal so I decided to buy some replacements from estremepsi/.com I have PTE 850s (actual 896s). The part number is 17113743. I went to replace them tonight and when I went to install them the injectors stick out further than with the old seals. I believe the old seals are from the stock injectors. The new ones also look different than the old ones. Should they stick out further, when I put the fuel rail back on will it clamp them down. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

if you bought the injectors and know their actual size and bought the right seals for them then they will fit. they are just new and havent been seated, if you have issues after assembly post back with the problem

i had the same problem with the new one i just installed. if you are running the stock fuel rail and using the black spacers. Just tighten the bolts down a little bit and it should seat the injectors in nicely. Just make sure that everything is lined up as you go. post a picture if your still have problems.

I guess I will try to tighten them down. I think I bought the right ones they didnt have model specific ones just brand and I bought the PTE ones. What is the worse thing that can happen?

I guess I am going to just try to tighten them down and see what happens. I ordered the PTE ones off of the company but not injector specific does that matter? Whats the worse that can happen?

ok here are a few pictures the injectors the one on the RIGHT is using the old seals and the one on the LEFT is using the new seals.

The seals pictured the new seal is on the LEFT and the old seal is on the RIGHT. I believe the old seals are stock but I am not sure. Any help would be awesome because I want to put it back together tonight I miss my car LOL.

I decided to try and push my luck and I decided to put them in and see what happens. I then tried to hook the injector wires up and the rail is stopping it. Can I just turn them to connect them and leave them turned or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You torqued the bolts down to their proper rating correct?

Assuming everything is sealing up good (both fuel and air) then yes, just rotate the injectors so the plug is on the bottom. It's a common thing done to clean up the wiring.

Update for everyone....injector seals still dont fit. I am almost sure they sold me the wrong ones, and now I dropped the black cap off the injector into the hole any ideas.

Finally got the intake back on still never found the pintle cap. Called PTE and extreme psi and they said the seal goes on around the pintle cap. Does this sound right? That makes the injectors stick up higher.

Before reinstalling the IM did you thoroughly look and feel inside the intake port for the pintle cap? If it's in there and gets wedged between the valve and valve seat it could end up trashing your motor. I've never handled PTE injectors so I can't give a definitive answer about the lower seal. But what you were told sounds (generally) correct to me.

Yea I looked all thru for it and powder coated the intake while it was off. I even put a camera in there. if anyone can shed some lite on here it would greatly be appreciated. The pictures listed above are the problem im dealing with. Also do I need all 4 caps?
