Like the title says guys I was just wondering if anyone had instructions on how to install injectors and a new fuel filter. It looks pretty straight forward I just wanna make sure. I looked on vfaq and did a search but got way too much clutter. Thanks again :dsm:

Yeah just let your car sit a bit, and open the gas tank cap to get some pressure out. Remove the 3 bolts holding down the fuel rail and easily pull it straight out, and the injectors will pop right out.

NOW REMEMBER there are some black spacers inbetween the head and the fuel rail, they shouldn't fall out if you are careful, but dont lose/forget them.

It is pretty straight forward. The tip is DO NOT LOOSE ANY OF THE 3 SPACERS FOR THE FUEL RAIL. If you do, find another one. With missing even one spacer of the three you run the risk of breaking the rail. A little RTV to "glue" the spacer to the rail will help to keep it in place.

*edit* beat me to it:sosad:

Is it ok for me to jsut go right after the fuel filter after i let pressure out or will gas leak everywhere?

You will leak a little but it should be that much. You should wear eye protection when you are underneath. It helps to have two people, one with a wrench on the top and one on the bottom. You will probably need a u-joint extension for your ratchet with some long extensions. Make sure you have seals for your new filter.

while on the topic of those black spacers, are there any tricks to catch them? I am going to be putting in new injectors in a month or so, and should i place a rag somewhere or something to catch them incase i'm not careful enough? Just curious, i am going to buy new ones anyways, just wondering though for future reference.

If you are just pulling the rail and injectors...no. They might fall and then again they might not, but at worst they will fall into the "well" of the intake mani and should be easily found. Even though you plan to get new ones, I would still locate any missing spacers if you lose one so it's not sitting somewhere melting causing some other problem.

There is not a hole big enough for them to fall into that leads to the inside of the engine/head while pulling injectors.
