okay...i know this is a stupid question...and probably a waste of time for most...but i dont have a manual. can someone tell me how to put on a fuel filter..an where exactly is it located

Check the vfaq.com. You should really invest in a shop manual.

i know :( but ive been so poor lately...no job..for example...my biggest purchase has been 17 dollars in my gas tank. have a couple interviews comin up...so hopefully i'll get a job. :thumb:

i checked vfaq.com couldnt find anything...if i missed it could someone give me a link?

i was tryng to find the same thing fortunately a guy at my work knew even though hes not an eclipse guy...open your hood and look at the pass corner by the firewall, where the battery is located. a little more to the left and down, before you get to the engine block, is a little metal cylinder with a tube coming out of the top and a bolt on top of that. that's your fuel filter. abd so you dont get confused, there's a black cylinder mounted at an angle above your battery...that's not it. here's a picture of it on my car, not sure how it will turn out...

edit-by the way i have the 1.8 liter SOHC engine so if you have the 4g63 it may be different but thats what i know.

does anyone know if its the same spot on the 1.8 as it is on the 4g63?

fuel filters on 2g's are not in the tank they are on the firewall just lower then a 1g kinda under the battery and stuff. if you ever need to find a fuel filter just look at your fuel rail and follow the fuel line back to the tank if you hit a canister looking thing thats it . :dsm:

just go look under your hood in that spot if you see it then yes if not then i it isnt.

yea i got it now...was just lazy earlier..put it in today...in about 10 min. thought this would have cleared up the knock. at WOT its still pulling timing..an i pretty much sit there. im gonna go buy parts for a boost leak test.
