well i bought a fuel filter for my car, its running a little ruff at idle only about 4-500 rpms, this started happening after i got a po 170 fuel trim CEL. So anyways i went to install the filter and got stuck on the first bolt. Its the one on top of the filter. i turned theat wrench so hard i lost my hearing but it wouldn't move. Anyone got any tips on how to remove it other then wd 40 cause i tried that a couple times over a couple days period.?

LOL. Lost his hearing!

Anyway, PB blaster is a good suggestion. Fuel filter is something I was more than happy to let the dealer do when I first got the car because those bolts were rusted and seized in there pretty good.

I tried mine for a few weeks, and was close to bending the lines to hell. I was glad to let my mechanic do it for $30 bucks. Broken Fuel Line= :thumbdown
By the way, I need to try PB Blaster, I hear all good things, where do you get it from?

I find using one wrench on the filter and one on the fitting, positioning them so that squeezing them together turns the fitting the correct direction works best. The OEM filter has flats on it just for that purpose. Use a flare wrench on the bottom line. PB Blaster doesn't hurt either.

I did the same as Steve... no matter what you do its gonna suck... mine were hard as hell... get a strong friend over too... my buddy and I just took turns over and over and tried again and again until the nuts were loose..

Mine was fun.
It took me about a week to do it, because I tried to do it, couldn't get it loose. Got one of those strong friends they speak of.. he broke it loose... but he broke the lines, too. so... I spent like 5 days finding and using a double flare tool to re-flare the line and get it all back together... it's all relocated now and it works fine... It'll be SIMPLE to replace my filter from now on ;)
