Ok my fuel filter is WAY over due for a change. I know how much of a bi*** they are to get off when they are old plus my car is a northern car. So I figured while i'm at it I will make it easier for myself in the future. What is a good fuel filter to replace it with that will have the AN fittings? Can I get AN fittings and make it work on a OEM filter? I don't want or need anything fancy I just want it easier for the next time. Any help would be great. Thanks

That is a nice setup. How did you hook it to your fuel pump?

the fuel line connects to the fuel pump outlet. the fuel pump outlet is a male and it screws right onto the red/blue female fitting. (same way it would connect to the fuel rail.

Here you go. Starts with the fitting I mentioned above, followed by -6AN female to female, -6AN Earol's inline filter, 90* -6AN female to hose fitting. The only thing I'm not 100% sure is the first fitting because my tap set only goes up to m12, bring your filter to a shop to verified the size, I'm pretty sure it's m16x1.75 to -6AN male.

Don't pay attention to the arrow on the filter, when I replace the filter inside last time, I accidentally reversed it.

Well, I was finally able to get back on here to see the pics. Thanks for the info and the pics. They helped alot. :thumb:

To update this thread with a bit of new info.

The adapter to mate to the OEM metal line is EAR-9894DBHERL ($8.69 at Summit) which is a 14x1.5mm female to -6AN Male.

There's a nice VFAQ HERE (just note that the Earls P/N Changed to what I listed above).

BTW.. the Earls filter shown in the post above is not recommended for EFI applications by Earls since their only two filter options are 35 and 85micron (10micron is the minimum size that should be used) :dsm:
