well, ive been thinking about getting new speakers for a while since my front driver side 6 3/4" blew on me (well i thought it did, until today, i ripped it apart and found out that i was right, the cone was all shredded up, so i can tell now why nothing was coming out of it) anyways, whats the RMS on the stock amplifier? i was thinking maybe 30 watts or so, so get speakers that were rated at 25-40 watts RMS.. is this right? or do i need ones with less rated power? any help would be nice, and also, there is just the 3" speakers way up front, the 6 3/4" 's in the doors, and 6x9's in the back....correct?

i doubt if that amp gets 10 watts rms... if it's an aftermarket deck, ditch the amp. Just about any nice speaker is going to out spec the stock system easily. I would just focus on getting good quality speakers.

as far as the front speakers, if you have the infinity system they shouldn't be 3", but more like a 1.5" tweeter. You can do what you want up there, because the stock amp does the crossover work. If you aren't using the amp, you'll need some kind of crossover (a unit or capacitor)

its still the stock deck, i dont have the money really to go and buy a new deck, and i dont want to cheap out on one either, i just need new speakers, ones that would be alright for the stock set-up, and would be able to be used with an aftermarket one that puts out 50x4 watts..i am sure i will just disconnect those little speakers up front, i dont think they are very good anyways.

those little speakers are your tweeters, and it sounds like BUTT with out them...

trust me

why don't you get a nice component set use the drivers for now, and when yuo are ready, punch out the cone and use the OE bracket to install your newer better tweeters.
