infamous drive by motor rev

Well, because I have chosen to do a few decals (for 30-40 gain in horsepower) there are tons of kids out there that assume I did that because I have a car faster than a F-16 or something, when in reality, I wanted to change the look of my car and couldn't affford a paint job and decals were a subtle enough change. Granted, my ride is pretty damn fast, but damn.

Anyway, yeah, they do it all the damn time. In a small town like I live in, 9 times out of 10, I have handed their ass to them. The others in town (A supra, rx7, and other serious cars including DSMs) know what's up and don't make asses of themselves. Sooner or later Natural Selection will take over.

Man, now I'm getting pissed just thinking about it.

But I gotta say there is this one guy in my town with a Honda Civic Nice one i think a 98 or 99, any ways he has the decal and the rims you know the ricer shit. And he never does shit like that he just drives. But he dont race either. He just likes having a nice lookin car. Ill get some pics and post it

Around here in the middle of nowhere the drive by rev isnt used much .. altho a week ago me and my friend revved his 86 ford f-150 and the next time past this back road dude was in the middle of the road and his son had a truck blocking the road. So I guess the drive by rev around here is used mainly just to irritate people.

ive never seen a mustang or bmw or anyone else for that matter do the drive by, has always been hondas i wouldnt mind a mustang, some of them stock actualy sound pretty nice with the muscle car rumble. but a POS honda wit nuttin needs to keep his muffler shut .

Today i raced a bmw and whooped him 3 times on the highway and he pulled the ol ricer flybye This was in my srt-4.

I do the drive by rev... but only to friends you know, sorta like saying HI, because theres a couple of us at school that used to honk at each other when we left school when we passed each other going the different directions and going by each others houses on the way home, and some cop yelled at us at the schools, so... we rev now.

we've always revved... when you have the best sounding cars in school you gotta give the rest of the school a little taste

I got into the habit of tapping the gas from my 240z the cam was so lopey and my tach was O/S I had to tap the gas to make sure it would keep running at lights and stops signs(it never died on me but I did it anyways) I still do it, especially on cars with the quiet type idle.
I know I can't take half of anyone ....yet. i know it sounds like I'm revving , but it never blips higher than 2 grand, and I feather my gas as I release the clutch.

I take it back I've revved up on one car but it was so sweet I couldn't resist hearing that 10 cylinder rev up and smoke the tires, come on you guys know. There was this TnT600 viper, silver in color rear exhaust. real nice, and you gotta respect the guy, he had rubber all over the rear quarters. My kids were in the car I just wanted to hear it, I give a rev and waved saying nice car, he revs ungodly high drops the clutch and leaves me at the light eating smoke... it was the sweest ####ing burnout ever!!!!

What pisses me off is when the ####er has nothing but a 4 inch cannon and a full body kit. Like ####, the kit doesn't do anything

You should see this guy in his ### cavalier, he throws on a full body kit, 5 inch exhaust, then drives infront of my high school and trys to look like hot shit picking up his fugly girl. Then when hes behind me a couple cars, he cranks up the subs and starts reving like a ####er to get all this attention.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the car is black and his body kit is unpainted, light blue primer.

There are very few Civics here in town, and I know a couple of the people that drive them, so I don't have to worry about the Civic problem. And suprisingly, I havn't seen one yet that is at a stupid amount of "ricey." The only thing we have around here that will rev on me are Camaro's, TA's, and cars like that. Most of which are pretty damn fast! But whats really stupid is the amount of trucks that rev on people. I live in a so called "hick" town where everyone and their brother has a truck (as do I so I can't make fun of them). But all they do is pull up and start revvin the hell out of their trucks. It's almost funny enough to make me start laughing at them right there on the spot.

Alot of Civics around here some Z28's and Mustangs but I don't even attempt it of course.Here's a good one for you though, 2 or 3 times a week I have some dumbass in a Grand Voyager races me, he must work close to me and get off at the same time. The first few times he really tried, after that I think its more of a running gag with us .

Ok, here is a good one that I hope makes you laugh!!

One day coming to work at “normal” secondary road speed, say 60 ish, I kept watching this SUV close on me for about, say 3 miles. Turns out it is a Jeep whatever SUV (Cheorkee??). Anyway there is a railroad track ahead, and approximately 1/8 mile beyond the track, is a stop sign. Well he on my ass by the time we reach the tracks, and I usually take them at turtle speed first gear (their rough), but since the dumb ass is so close, I hit them in 2nd, at about 10 – 20 mph?, ease over towards the center line, (not over it) so I can hit a smooth spot. Next thing I see is the dumb ass never slows and is going to show me he is a man, and he passing me on the tracks!!! Well I clear the track, I am pissed, he is about a nose and a car door by me, so I floor it, still in second…….bog…..then she just winds up and bam……..before I am ready to shift, he behind me and pissed off while I am laughing… and I have plenty of time to slow down and stop at the intersection. I think he tried to follow me the rest of the way, but GOOD BYE DUMB ASS, go buy a sports car…….idiot!!

Kind of dumb on my part to do what I did, but it was soo funny, never really figured I could take him, BEFORE I left second gear!!

Screw the the SUV’s and the trucks, I just laugh at there sub par performance, and sub par 20 MPG’s!! If they want to go fast, buy a sports car, (or maybe, a Ford “Lighting”, never seen one, but hear they are fast)!!

Today when i was leaving school this civic with a body kit only front bumper and sideskirts primer white revvs his crap at another civic up from me about 5 cars and then comes speeding down the road and drives by me and reves up his engine. i know the kid 2 and i guess he wants to lose to me the other civic he revved at is my friend also and ive beat him many times civics should just not be raced they are so slow whe i was stock i raced civics with some mods and beat em now that i got some mods its alot worse and after this weekend even worse they are so dumb ill prolly race the kid with the partial body kit tonight and beat him well that one of my stories

Guess I'm just kinda lucky, there are only a couple of guys around here with imports that are all show and absolutely no go. There are a few really respectable one that I can think of off the top of my head. One is a guy with a CRX with a H22A, he can go like a bat out of hell in a straight line, but I really feel for him in the corners... and when he's trying to get into a parking spot
Then a mid 90's RX-7 with a blow off valve that I think tries to compete with a semi's air brakes... he nails it every once in a while and it sounds just like a truck is parking when his BOV pops. Pretty quick too, but I never seen it run all out on a open road, mostly just pulling out of places until he hits 55.
And there is a dude with a really nice looking Starion. I saw him put a WS6 to shame one day after he pulled out of the gas station. I have no clue what he did to it, but it really made my day
Ohh, and now that I'm thinking about it the only guy that ever really "revved" me was in a hemi cuda. I kinda passed him since he was going the speed limit on a four lane road, but as soon as I got around him the damn light turned red... I pretended that I was looking for something in my glove box when he pulled up next to me, then he revved it until I looked over. Never knew a guy could have that wide of a grin
Needless to say, I got my ass handed to me without much difficulty
