hello everybody,

happens that my car suddenly doesn't revs higher than 4k we connected a ECU scanner and the message was "TPS not in the same accelerator position" or something like that

the mechanic says that first we should clean the TB inner parts with carburetor cleaner before think of changing it

its that good for cleaning it? should i use something else?

any recommendation will be appreciated,

thanx a lot

What you should do is look in the book for testing instructions and make sure it's within the "limits". If not, swap it out. I wouldn't clean it out while it's still on the car cause there is only one direction it will want to go. :nono:

so i have to test the limits and clean it out of the car, he told me that we have to remove it from the car to clean it, but its OK to clean it with carburetor cleaner? or should we use something else?

Carb cleaner is fine for the throttle body.

You could help us help you by providing a specific error code.

i forgot the specific code :(

but ill place the scanner again and ill let you know, will clean tomorrow the TB and give you some info next Monday

last night i found that my CAI filter had a hole so that's the reason why i got a dirty TB

just replaced the filter and thanx a lot! :)

No. You have a dirty TB because the EGR is recirculating dirty exhaust gasses back into your intake manifold.

You can remove the throttle body from the intake manifold by disconnecting the IAC and TPS, then there are 2 bolts holding the TB on to the intake manifold.

hey guys,

this is what happened last weekend, we opened the TB and it was dirty to the extreme!!!

so we clean it and installed back again (and yes we test it) and the problem persisted, then we installed the TB of my friends 420a GS and it was the same

then we opened the fuel pump and it looked in good shape

then we take out our last suspect The Fuel Filter and it was obstructed (maybe for a factory malfunction)

so we installed yesterday a fresh new one and the car its running strong again,

thanx a lot guys!
