in and out shaft play question.....(that sounds funny!)

i notice a very very small amount of in and out shaft play...is that ok or should there be none? if its bad, what do i need to do to fix it..?

It should be fine. Can you give us an esitmation on the amount of play?

There really should be no play in and out on the turbo. A little side to side movement is ok. What kind of turbo is it, and how many miles?

If it is bad, a rebuild is the only thing that will fix that. Or, the better fix is sometimes an upgrade!

Even in very very small amounts? After all, no bearing is going to be perfect.

Ya no bearing will be perfect, but I guess "small amounts" is up for interpretation.
