Okay, I ordered the stage 4 package with an E3 exhaust manifold from FP about a month ago with everything ported, it took 3 weeks to come in. But not to worry FP kept me informed of everything. All and all the install was straight foward. The only problem really was with the J pipe fitment (I had to use a radiator hose combined with the J pipe to make a LIP). After running the car with the greddy BC off, I decided it was time to turn the thing on and see what would happen.
Verdict at 12.5 psi: not bad. Not as much as expected but then again Im still quite a nOOb. First is still non-existing (a little joke with us dsmer's), Second is a seat of the pants peice out to most cars on the road, Third is a steady nice pull (this is where I thought the turbo would really shine), Fourth well . . . its forth, and Fifth is not for racing. I believe this turbo will really be a nice hair dryer once I get injectors, some a/f tuning, and a FMIC. There is really noway to tell at this point of how great or terrible this turbo is without the proper supporting mods. All and all this is a good stepping stone for the nOObs.

Mods:
See profile, nothing more than that on the car. (the walbro isnt installed yet due to the fact that I didnt know how it would act with the stock injectors because there is no way at this point to adjust or tune the fuel system)

I know this has been beat to death just wanted to put another opinion on the board. Thanx for all the help guys, the search feature has been very helpful, I wouldnt have started messing with the car if it wasnt for this site. Thanx to the mods. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Yeah, the evo III likes higher boost levels. Once you get the supporting mods, turn up the boost and you won't be dissappointed. :thumb:

Very soon guys, Im about to order a fpr, Im not sure what i should get. What do you recommend? And what should I set it on to run with the walbro 255?

Hey, ditto. I just did essentially the same thing. I know I'm GOING to be impressed, but yeah, as of now, I feel a little pulling potential, but nothing too amazing until I get some problems fixed and more supporting mods. I think I'll be happy too, but I have fuel cut problems and that is pissing me off too. Well, I'll keep looking at how yours is going for you as you mod.

I don't know what you plan on running in the future whether it be a 20g or more but if you plan on sticking with the evo and not go higher, then a 190 is plenty sufficient and you won't need an aftermarket fpr. This is assuming that you don't already have the 255. If you do have the 255 i would do a search to find out what other peoples opinions are on different regulators.

I hear ya. I bolted on my 16g on a stock car. When I rewired my fuel pump, I felt a little difference. And I added a FMIC and felt a big gain but when I added a turboback exhaust, I was just like WHOA! Can't wait till I put these 550's and walbro 190 in already.

Yes I already have the fuel pump, it came with the kit. I plan on going even bigger as soon as the fuel system is done and I have a FMIC. So right now, I am going to run a 16g and be a little down and dissapointed about it, I figured it would be a little better up top, the way people made it sound it would be at least.
But I am really not bashing the 16g cuz I dont have everything to support it to its fullest extent. I ran the T25 till it sounded like it was gonna explode. Its time to run my new 16g as hard as it can be ran. Fuel system then the FMIC maybe cams then it may be time to get a new turbo. Until then Im not going to beat on the little guy just yet. Also I need tires for my 3g eclipse rims LOL talk about power hahahahaha. :dsm:

Uhh, 12.5psi is your problem. I run 20psi daily with mine. So add another 100 to 150hp to your current level. :)

OMG OMG

wtf? I/We must be doing something wrong.....I gotta look at your mod list and I hope to god it is huge and explains why we can't go up to your 20 psi...

I also have HKS cams, 660cc/min injectors (550s are too small to run that boost level), a 3" exhaust, etc...

I also have a water sprayer on the intercooler. :)

If you are getting really bad knock at lower boost levels, chances are that your timing curve is advanced a lot due to messing with the MAF signal in order to use your larger injectors.

I don't know about RayRay32, but that makes me feel slightly better, but still damn, I wish I could break 13s/100mph.

Ray-have you done any 1/4s with your new setup?

bosljeff - there's seriously something wrong with your car if you cant hit 13's with a 16g OMG AND a 1g AWD

shapeGSX - you probably have one of the fastest 16G powered cars out there. but hitting/being able to hit 20 psi shouldn't be too hard to do. all you need is fuel and tuning [ of course all of the other supporting mods ] ... a pump/injectors/fmic/safc will get you to 300 whp with 20 psi...

btw, the turbo doesn't even START waking up until about 16 psi. when i ran 10 psi the car felt like ass.. turn up the boost if you have AT LEAST a pump to 15-16 psi and you'll notice a difference..

No, I havent been to the track yet. Very soon, I think I need a new axle first, it kinda clicks (not a noise but a vibration) when I turn right. But, I have ran some pretty quick cars, (on closed track ;) LOL) An 03 gt, he got me off the line, once boost hit and I stopped spinning tires and hit second, I pulled ahead, by the time I hit 3rd I was about two car lengths ahead and it was time to stop. As far as running on the track, Im going to do a few more things before I run: fpr, install my pump, new axle, and bump it up to about 16psi. Im not AWD so I really dont expect any great numbers at the track. Maybe high 13's. Which to me isnt that fast, I think of it like this, the car stock ran somewhere around a low to mid 15 stock right? So dropping 1.5 seconds off the quarter mile is good. Of course Im not going to stop here.

I run 15lbs on my b16g daily right now and I'm pig rich. That's w/550s and a 190.
The afc is around -17 across the board cuz I can't get my logger to work and haven't hit the dyno yet. It pulls real well, much better than the T25, but like someone already said, she hasn't even really woken up yet at 15lbs. I can't wait to turn it up to 18-20 and see what she does. Judging from what I've seen other cars dyno I should easily be able to hit 300+whp. One kid I know has a 95awd w/an e316g and at 18lbs he hit 287whp.

both of you are on the east coast (NJ my home state) and the gas out there is MUCH better than it is out here. Not only do you have higher octane they done "lace" it with other $hit to make it more enviormential friendly. So ill might stick with 14-15PSI to be in the safe side :dsm:

I was just thinking, I have never riden in an EVO. Im making an educated guess here but I think I could pull an EVO. They have like 271 from the factory and Im not even going to try and guess what Im putting down.

blcknspo0ln, you run 16psi on stock injectors? That seems like quite a bit. I did a log on dsmlink at 16psi and i was pushing 110% duty cycle. Now i just have it at 10 till i put my injectors in on saturday. BTW there was someone on here that made 250whp at 10psi with supporting mods. Thats some damn good tuning in my opinion.
