Heres the deal, I have about $500 to spend on my next few mods. I know for a fact that one of them is going to be the GReddy RS bov. But now i'm stuck with the question to either get the GReddy upper IC piping or a performance intake. It's either the Apexi short ram or the IC piping. I was told the piping gives about 10 hp but I was told the intake gives about the same. I need some help what do you guys suggest??

I'd save the whole piping thing untill you know what you want to do with the rest of your turbo system. Intake and filter would'nt hurt to do now.

So if I got the piping now, would i be fuxored in the future if I decide to go with a EVO 16g?

no. :thumb:

Edit: ok, I should elaborate. I believe the above poster just doesnt want you to buy an overly expensive uicp just to turn around and go with a blow-thru setup.

I don't believe that should be a concern, however, because few people go from a stock car straight to a MAF-T and GM MAF setup.

It's my opinion, owning an intake/filter, and wanting an uicp w/ aftermarket bov, that there is more to be gained from the latter. The gains from a hard intake pipe are miniscule at best, while a uicp and bov provide much more tangible gains and potential. Most would say you would first purchase an intake, boost gauge, bov, ic piping, mbc, exhaust, fuel pump, fuel control, afpr, injectors, upgraded turbo ( evo III 16g?), front mount intercooler...etc etc BEFORE stepping up to a blow-thru setup.

I'm not saying this is how it has to be though either. But what I laid out is most common, many combinations are possible, however. This is just the only explanation I have for the previous poster's advice of forgoing the uicp and bov until you know what path you wish to take.

I hope this clears things up for you..cause i think i may have confused myself.. :p

I would go with the intercooler piping, gains from a metal intake are minimal, much less than hard intercooler piping.
