Ignition Timing

I really need to time my engine but i can find the think you are supposed to hook the rpm thing up to in the back of the batter i dont know what it looks like and exactly what i am supposed to do if any one has a picture or can help me that would be great thanks. the pictures in my chiltons sucks and so does the instructions. I am very mechanicly inclined and can do most anything to my car so it should be easy if i can just figure out where to hook it up btw its a 1st gen n/a 4g63

thanks for the link but i have already seen that and it doesnt give a clear picture of what the cap and ground plug looks like if some one could snap a quick pic i would be greatful.
