I just recently put a head back on. After i got it all together i went to start it up and it ran like crap. Did a compression and ignition test. I had good compression but i was only running on two cylinders. The wires coming from the left side of the coil pack (1 and 4) were not sparking at all. So, i changed the coil pack from one out of a 98. Still same problem. So i borrowed my friends ITR unit...Same problem. I then noticed i didn't connect the Cam angle sensor. Still same problem. Tried resetting the ecu by taking off the battery for alittle while. Anybody have any clues to what this could be? Do i need to do a hard reset where i diconnect the ecu? This is all on my 1995 Talon TSi.
 
hey bro, good luck trying to find info on this one. i posted a while back with the very same problem. post is " car will not start " , you can't miss it i started the thread, so it should be under sonnyriley as far as who posted it. i have run across three other people with the same prob. and still no replies. with you and i it makes it a total of five people with the very same problem. Read my post and you will see everything i have done. i am down to tracing wires, i priced a wiring harness from the dealership, they want like 630.00 for it. so wire hunting i'm going, unless one of us finds it sooner. i talked to the master tech at the mitsu dealer and he didn't have much to say about it, new dealership so they didn't have the service manuals for it. if anyone can get me the service manual wiring diagrams for a 95 eagle talon tsi, than i can try cutting the wire hunt down a little. hayne and chiltons do not give me excats that i need to speed the process.

Make that 6. Did anyone ever figure this out? I have an identical problem. Cyl 1 and 4 are not firing. CAS is connected, i built a new 7bolt for this, but reused the CAS and a few other things. Is there any way to test the CAS? What can cause it to run on only 2 cyl? I know the CAS can, is there a way to test that it is working?
 
I swapped it out with a known working one, same problem.

I checked the voltage on the wires going to the coil, only 1 of the 2 are sending signals, so the ECU is not letting the other 2 fire. Im thinking cam/crank sensor.
 
i woulda said check that transistor pack..... i have to ask if you actually tested that one you swapped in... you never know, new parts are sometimes broke too. Also, don't rule out the idea of a bad ecu.
 
My post is Coil Pack, my car recently is having the same issue here, except when i drive, it runs fine at part throttle sometimes, but as soon as it goes over 10 psi, it blubbers like a subaru and runs like crap. Im thinkin now after reading this thread it may be the cas or transistor pack
 
ditto on 95 eclipse rs. after installing a new coil pack i noticed the old wiring harness 3 wire plug had two loose wires(they spun in place - not good). the new coil ran fine for 1/2 hour with great powergains in mid range to 90mph. then it happened again: shuttering with a check engine light code p0351 primary coil fault. i can't afford $90/ half hour.
help!!!!!!!!!
