ignition cut-off

Where's a good spot to put a switch to cut off the ignition. I know I can put it where the steering wheel is because the wires are all there, but if a theif looks there, he can simply jump the wires..

I was thinking of tapping it someplace under the hood by the ignition coil, which wire do I cut and run to the switch, so that basically i'll have ignition cut-off so no one can start the car, and if they somehow bypass it, i already have a fuel cut-off, but they can drive for as long as they run out of gas in the fuel rail - which shouldn't be more then a mile or two..

just trying to take as many safety precautions as possible from theives.

You don't get that kind of mileage. More like a yard or two.

Another good one is a nice driver's pillow. Get a piece of 3/8" plywood, some nice foam, an attractive piece of cloth that goes well with your interior, and a box of drywall screws, about 2". Put the foam on the board, run about 50 screws up through the bottom, and upholster. Put it in the driver's seat whenever you leave the car.

Any reasonably-voiced thief will obviate the need for an alarm horn.

Also, disable the airbag system, re-wire the rocket propellant to the alarm, remove the bag and replace with dimes, broken Coke bottle glass, razor blades, sheet metal screws and rat feces. Surprise!

if ya really wanna kill the ignition - get a msd dis-2. it has built in protection you can use to disable it via a switch.
