My igniton fuse blew, so i went to the nearest petboys and replaced it. Then i went for a thirty min drive with no problems, then the voltage started to drop when cars at idle. As soon as voltage reached 13.3v my car turned off, no accessories were on, so the igntion fuse must have blown again. I used the power window fuse, which is the same ampage rating as the ignition fuse, i can live without power windows so i used the fuse to power the ignition. I attempted to start it again and it started so i turned it off to see if it would turn back on again and to my luck the second time it turned back on, it started but died moments after. Long story short a friend came by and told me to jump the fuse for a temp. job. It worked so as soon as the car started i went to the nearest parking lot, having to jump a curb in the process. I parked it turned off; tired to start it again and the car wouldnt start. i removed the fuse again and rejumped it; replaced the fuse. This caused the acessories to turn on but the car still wouldnt start. i left the key in the on postion; i walked to the coke machine to get a coke to clean the terminal. While i was walking the car turned on by itself!!OMG so i ran to the car took the keys out and the car stayed started. after five seconds of the car running i took the positive terminal off the battery. Aftter freaking put a little while; I pushed the car into a dim lighted parking space. I looked at the fuse and it was melted to the igniton post in the fuse box. Struggled to remove melted fuse for a few mons, but eventually got it off. Dad showed up with two spare fuse; we replaced blown fuses with new ones. With the ignition in the off postion and the key in my pocket i put the positive terminal back on and the car attempted to turn on. After being baffled for a long time, the car attempted to start no matter what postion the ignition was in, or where the key was. After an hour of working we tried to push start it; after the second attempt it stumpled on start but didnt it start. The third push start nothing even clicked. We gave up. without the key in the ignition the acessory lights and the gage cluster still stayed on, so i took the terminals off the battery and called it a night. Does anyone know what could possibly have gone wrong? all the advice is greatly appreaciated because im real desperate and i need my car back.

PS i unhooked the greddy tubor timer from the harness but that didnt help either.

Jumping or bypassing a fuse should never be done. Fuses are there to save the rest of your electrical system from overloads and shorts. I had a friend use a nail to jump his ignition fuse once and his engine bay started on fire! It sounds like the jumping of the fuse may have melted some wiring and that is causing a short somewhere in the ignition/starter area of the harness. Try putting all the proper fuses in there proper places and triple check the rest of the harness for any signs of melted or shorted wiring before connecting the battery terminals again.

Never, ever, ever bypass a fuse under ANY circumstances. Why do you think they exist? To prevent wires from melting which you almost certainly now did. A good place to start is to remove engine fusebox and check underneath for wires that are melted, touching, disconnected, etc. Also check for shorts using test light described here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179481

Well, I have an update, and a good one too. I went through the harness and followed it to the ignition switch. The blue (ignition) and white (battery) wire were melted together. So it makes sense everytime the positive was on it powered the ignition wire. The connector was melted so I cut all wires, color marked them, and spliced them together the right way. Car starts right up. Thanks for the replies.
