If the tranny is up without the axles can I fill the tranny with fluid?

The tranny is in place and semi bolted up after installing the clutch. Nothing at all is connected to it. No axles, transfer case, etc etc.

I was wondering if the tranny is sealed at this point. I want to get this part out of the way while I am waiting for torque specs.

Just wait too put the new fluid in. Get on the ground, even ground and then fill her up.

Wow, glad I asked....thought it was a dumb question.

Anyone bored enough to tell me where it will pour out from? The drain plug is in.

Yep mines was uneven that was 10 years ago i learned a lot since then, get it together fill her up. Pop the axles in.

It'll drain out of the axle holes. You can stick rags in the axle holes and it wont drain out that bad.

I originally thought it would drain out, but having done two clutch jobs very recently without draining the tranny you'll lose a little bit but not a whole lot of fluid. With that said though, wait until it's back together before filling.
