i have a 96 talon awd and i was wondering how strong the transfer case is if i can dump the clutch at the track without worry that its going to break i dont wanna break it wont do it if its a bad idea

its not your transfer case that would be the problrem, it be your first gear that would shread or your center spyder gear break.

It all depends on how you drive it. I wouldn't dump the clutch on an awd car. Try slipping it a bit and make sure you pre load the drivetrain before you launch it.

Even if you do break your transfer case they are easy to swap out, just a few bolts. A guy broke his at the dsm shootout last year during qualifying and had it ready to go for racing like 15-20 mins later. And I think every other car there with antilag launched and there was only that incident and a broken drive shaft on another one and that was it.

Yeah dumping a clutch is not a good idea on ANY CAR...your supposed to slip a little but not too much as that will wear your clutch a lot faster(might want to look into a clutch as of now) but its better than breakign your tranny or t-case...when you try launching, first obviously put it in gear then give it some gas(like 4000 but as you keep doing you might change due to your style or mods), then ease out the clutch barely when you feel that its about to grab any minute then you can let off fast but sdont "dump".
