OK Iam new to dsm world and don't have any idea whats going on. I have a 1992 Eagle Talon N/A AT and just installed a K&N open filter on my car. Before i did the car idled ok. Now the idle is searching a little at park or a sitting at red light bouncing between 700 and 1000rpms. I did check the plugs, plug wires there all new and good. One thing i did notice is when i first installed the filter it ran super rich at first then was ok. Like i said earlier i new to these cars thanks for the help

Uh.... So the 1G's have a HUGE MAF. Did you happen to remove it to place the filter on the piping? Did you also remember to plug the MAF back up?

By MAF I mean this thing.

no i didn't forget to put that back on. But yeah its plugged in and the maf is good. The only thing i can think of is that is sucking so much more air than the factory set up the ecu needs to adjust, or the ecu is seeing the air and thinks its running lean and dumping more fuel than is needed.. From what everyone tells me these cars are touchy when you mod them???

Not exactly. The 1G can compensate for that little bit of extra flow with no issue. Look up how to adjust the BISS screw. A couple of turns of that should resolve your idle issue.

Ill have to check that out. But I think its running rich, ill have to get the multimeter out and do some checking. Thanks for the help.

Well iam back adusting the biss kindof help but.. it seems to stumble or hickup when driving. Plugs and wires are good running out of ideas?
