Hey guys, got a little situation, the car idles at 1500 rpms all the time no matter what, CEL is on all the time for O2 now, but before I had no CEL and every now in then I get a random CEL for TPS, and the car starts surging...from 1 to 1.5k rpms, up and down, on the dot every few seconds at idle..so I'm trying to figure out is it ISC, is it TPS, what is it thats causing this. LIke I said, now I have solid CEL for 02, idle stuck at 1.5k rpms, and randomly, I get the idle surge..it really sucks because now when I first fire up the car, I start to drive and the car bucks and backfires at certain throttle points and rpms, then all of sudden it randomly starts pulling with no problems anyone have any ideas?

Fix the O2 and TPS to start. A bad TPS will cause random bucking as the voltage drops out.
Surge is caused by too much bypass air at idle. The fact that you have a 1500 rpm idle is what triggers the ECU to cut fuel to protect the engine. Check your BISS, IPS, FIAV and look for any vacuum leaks.

i got same thing but a bit different, i get idle surge whenever i put clutch in goin fast and coast. 1500 then drops to 1000 , 15 then 10 goes on forever! when i pull up to light after highway driving its loud too people give me weird looks cause they think im revvin engine.. whats up? i dont have any of those throttle problems, but at standstill idling its perfect, but once im goin faster it starts again. whats up

When my 90 was doing this I found that my injectors wires were no longer good so after I rewired them it ran like a champ.... For a while... DSM's........ :rolleyes:
