My first problem is my idle surge that plagues me in warm weather. I have done plenty of research and after cleaning my tb, replacing the o-ring on my biss screw, and adjusting the throttle cable, it still surges. I have read numerous other posts about this problem, but none of them are quite like mine. My idle jumps up to around 1500-2000 rpm after stop and go driving. What's weird is the fact that i can smack the gas pedal with my foot and the rpm's go back down to normal. I'm thinking something is sticking but I really have no idea.

My second problem is my cel came on recently. He has a pocket logger and we saw that my cel was from a barometric pressure sensor. He has the same problem and is lost also. We both have 2g's but he has a 6-bolt with quite a few mods and I have a 7-bolt thats still relatively stock. I've searched the forums, but the posts aren't really much help.

If anyone can give me some suggestions on either problem I'll appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Did you boost leak test your intake after the TB cleaning/BISS repair? Also did you correctly set the base idle? The ISC has a finite range in which it can regulate idle speed, so if base idle is not set correctly, your ISC may be outside that range.

Also, make sure that that little "useless looking" metal bracket that connects the intake manifold to your TB (over one of the studs) is installed. This actually works to ground the ISC Solunoid, so if missing/loose, could be the culprit :dsm:

about your idle surge at warm weather, its your idle control screw on your intake manifold. i had the exact same problem, and some of my other DSM buddies have had the problem and have fixed it easy. buy a haynes manual and look up the idle control screw. it's very visible, ontop to the left on your intake manifold. a star screwdriver will work. twist it one way to lower your idle and the other to raise it. since you say your car idles at 1000-1500 i'd say lower it to around 800rpm. just turn it to lower it, and you'll hear your engine get quieter, then go check your tachometer.

anyways i'm hoping this helps you out, i almost spent 70$ to have a computer diagnostics done on my car, but i knew the guy and he said it was just my idle control screw. gooood luck

I havn't done a boost leak test, I'll try that. edenTSI, are you referring to the BISS screw? I could try and adjust that again and see if it helps. DSM90, I have no idea what bracket you're talking about...I'm guessing mine is missing. Is there any way you can find a pic of it?
