idle stutter?

when my car idles it seems to spudder or what I can hear from the exaust but my RPM kinda stays the same and doesn't move or does my exaust suck from exaust leaks? I have new NGK wires and NGK plugs but I don't know what they are gapped at..what the gap for them on a N/T..fuel filter hasn't been changed in forever..might go to that next..any suggestions?

That's fairly normal, I'm pretty sure.

It sounds like "mmmmpmmmpmpmmmmmmpmmmm pmmm"

It might be a sign of running too rich or lean though possibly.

I'm having a similar problem.....but it stutters during idle only when i'm warming it up after i start the engine and it only does it every four or five seconds.....

And when it stutters the air/fuel guage goes all the way down to Lean (red) and my RPM goes down too! What the hell is wrong with my car?

It runs perfect except when starting up

No idea what the cause might be... but have you ever tried a computer reset? disconnect the battery (ground) for 5 minutes or more and reconnect.

i dunno..its acting really weird..it isn't cold outside or anything and it ran it for awhile and it still does it..I am wondering if it isn't my fuel filter cuz that hasn't been changed in awhile and the fuel is being constricted somewhere..I'm not sure..I run super unleaded gas all the time and didn't have a problem..which is 91 octane here..I don't know what it is in other places..but it seems to have started after I got my recalls done at mitsubishi..they removed the lower hose that runs from the exaust manifold and went into my airbox..so I am clueless here..cuz it could be a number of things...

I have same shit,no one can figure out why it does so.i checked everyting ecu,ignition,fuel,air leaks compresion,timing all good and it still does that.i have no idea.But I know for sure that I wont buy DSM ever again. :thumbdown

well today I took out my plugs and they are in perfect condition..they are BKRGE..I dunno if those are the right plugs or not..but this guy said he had the same problem..and it was in his coilpack...how would I test my coilpack to see if it is good or not?

i've got the exact same problem. my car runs fine (95 Tsi AWD w/ 6bolt) except at idle it does the whole stutter thing and my A/F goes clear to lean for about 1 sec. the bounces around again like normal. i just replaced my fuel filter yesterday, new coil packs and transistor unit. new plugs, wires. cant figure it out! but i know it's not the coil packs or my transistor.
