Idle stutter/ bog

Alright so this problem has just started lately when I changed out my plugs. The car idles at 850 or so but every 2 seconds or so it makes a sound like it is missing and you can see the needle bounce a tiny bit. Also some timesvwhn I start the car the idle bounces alot from 100 to 800 Rpms. It sounds and feels like the car is going to die out on me so I give it a little gas and hebproblem will fix itself over a few seconds. I'm wondering what could be wrong. Spark plugs were gapped to .30

IMO sounds like your ISC is going, but could be a Vacuum Leak or something is bogging the motor uber tons.


I would get a repair manual preferably a Haynes because I know they have a really good trouble shooting section and it helps alot to have one.=, especially on this specific problem

It may be the iac , i was having a similar problem and replaced the iac, then the problem went away. good luck

I had been throwing a code for the iac for a long while then went and got one off of a user on here. I think i may have broke it putting it in though haha. So the code came back on and has been on ever since tell lately. Lately the engine light went out and this is when this problem has started. So it sounds like instead of throwing the code that the iac was going out it turned the code off on me haha. Anyone know where a good place to buy one of these is for cheaper?

are the isc's/iac's the same on turbo and non turbo models or must it be a turbocharged model?

as far as i Know they are the same. nothing in my repair manual or the diagrams show\say otherwise

my repair manual is a 1g haha, i realized the topic is on a 2g....

on the 1G's the Turbo Vs. Non = Same ISC

well 2g's have iac's but they are the same thing as a 1g isc so i guess they are the same. I am also running good vac at idle and boosting fine so im almost positive that there isnt a boost or vac leak.
