i just did a bunch of maintence work on my car.....the timing belt and balence shaft belts are timed perfectly but i am getting a horribley low idle.....it isnt even 1000 and it sounds like a old muscle car....the only 2 things i think it could be are:
-my t.p.s sensor isnt working properly
-the spark plugs i got from napa were ngks but they had 2 electrods and obviously were pre gapped....i read that these kind arnt reccomended (i didnt realize it until after i got them)

any one have any ideas? i finally got rid of my lifter tick now i want my nice smooth idle back!!!

did you move the BISS screw around? Mess with all the vac lines on the throttle body at all? Those are usually to blame.

Did you do a boost leak test? You should know by now that the majority of idle issues are caused by boost/vacuum leaks.

Also, how long ago did you complete the work? It sometimes takes a day or two for the ECU to relearn the settings after being offline for a while.

i didnt touch the biss at all, but i did have to remove the vacume lines because i sent the head to the shop.....i just completed the work yesterday so hopefully the ecu is still adjusting....as for boost leak, i really dont think that is the problem....i have no hesitiation what so ever and the the turbo spools up and pulls great....the car drives perfect but the idle is horrible...i have no cel....ill double check all vacume lines today but im pretty sure everything is straight...i replaced all hoses that were worn...i finally get rid of my lifter tick and now it idles like shit!! how annoying.......
