idle problem?how to clean

so i have a idle problem on my talon..i jest got it..i searched this site and i think there are 3 things it could be..i tightend the screw people say to and that didnt work..so i was wondering about cleaning my throttle body..do i have to take the whole thing out or can i jest take the turbo piping off and clean the inside with a rag???

If your cleaning only the throttle body then some throttle body cleaner will work just fine, but i doubt thats the problem. Is the idle erratic or just low?

it revs to the 2 on the rpm guage and stays here..i do have a bad turbo could that be the problem?

I doubt it's a bad turbo. Do a boost leak test and if it's good I would check your isc
If it surges high to low.

well the turbo is bad..thats a fact..but were is the isc located? so i can check that

If its a 4g63 check idle switch, FIAV hoses and spring response, tps, iac of course,maf, coolant temp sensor, intake leaks, blow off valve seal, exhaust mani for cracks, make sure none of the lines have splits where they go into the nipple, If you have a CEL swap ecus' with a friend to see if it does any thing ecus are notoriously tricky to trouble shoot your car with bad capacitors in your ecu. check oil cooler loss of coolant pressure and temp can affect idle. check coolant for oil will be a sign of bad oil cooler. of course boost leak test, compression, clogged cat, all that stuff can cause high idle.

I have the same problem, i replaced the ISC - Idle Speed Controller, but that didnt help. I still need to do a boost test and adjust the BISS screw.

were is the ISC located???

Could be a combination of vacuum leak and a bad IAC not usually the ecu on a 2g. vacuum leaks idle high and IAC tries to compensate unless its bad. Or may even be the throttle stop screw (sas screw) in to far. If it is not hunting from fast to slow try adjusting the biss (Base Idle Set Screw) screw in, and the throttle fixed sas screw out which stops the throttle body plate at a certain point.

Is it constantly high? or does it surge up and down? maybe it's as simple as your throttle cable is too tight.

mines doin the same thing,ill drive it around for a bout 2-3min till its at opperating temp and then at a stop it goes to idleing at 2k rpm.why just when it gets warm???
