Idle problem... car stalls

Okay. I just bought a 90 eagle tsi awd this past week. Had everything checked out and is clean/good to go.
Well today after work I start her up and not 5 seconds later the car stalls. I tried again, but fluttered the gas a bit this time. Kept the rpm's round 2K and put it in 1st gear. Drove it home, bout a 10 min. drive. And as soon as I pull into my driveway the car stalls.
I have a friend come over. We pop the hood. I start her up and put the rpms up to 3K as soon as the engine turns over. And while inside the car, I can hear this loud hiss by the uicp. But its so loud I can't tell if its actually the uicp. I am putting on hard uicp this coming weekend anyway.
Any diagnosis/help is greatly appreciated.

Check the throttle body. See if the hook is in there right and maybe turn up the idle a bit with a screwdriver(if u know what im talking about) But yeah sounds like a throttle body problem.

Hopefully thats the case and its not something bigger. I'll try and check it on Wednesday when I have time.

So I took a look at it today. Let the car rev steadily at 3.5K and grey smoke comes bellowing out of the muffler. I'm thinking that possibly the air or fuel filter is clogged somehow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I am a DSM noob.

I have the same problem with my Talon... I have a 90 Talon TSI with 230,000 KM on it. If the car's been just sitting in my driveway for a while, the car idles fine. But if I come home after driving for 10-15 minutes, the car stalls. After that, it continues to stall unless I hold the gas down a bit. I need help with this problem too.

I had the SAME problem with my car.....make sure that ALL and i mean ALL!!! of the hose connectors are securely tightened. On my 2g GSX the lower i/c pipe on the i/c was off and thats what was causing my car to die out. Check that, make sure your BOV isnt leaking too...if it is..get a new 1g or get an aftermarket one.
