idle issues. please help

i have a 92 esi talon. runs fine until today. the car will stall at idle unless you give it gas. once its driving, its fine. also it used to have a bad idle when cold. the rpms would jump around and slowly come down.

anyone have any experience with this? i read it might be the isc...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is a vacuum leak (certainly as a first guess anyway). Try attaching a vacuum gauge to the PCV valve hose and see what it says at normal idle. Proper vacuum is in the range of 18 to 20 in-Hg. Much less than that indicates problems (also significant fluctuations indicate problems). I use this webpage to help interpret the vacuum guage indicator:
