identify starter

I bought a starter from someone on here and he said it was for a 2g gst 5 speed. Its a little smaller than the one I have but the Bendix gear is the same size. How can I tell if its the exact one I need?

If it mitsubishi call them and give them the part number they will be able to tell you. If its from a parts store call a parts store and they can cross reference the part number. Its that easy.

Pretty sure it should fit as long as its not from a N/A automatic.

uhhhh awd and fwd have a different number of teeth on the flywheel. I measured the gear with a cheap micrometer and it is the same width though.

FWD and AWD starters are not different. Auto or manual is what matters.

I stand corrected you could not have possibly answered that better. Are the numbers on the starter?
